The Medallion glowed brighter and brither yet till Professor Simmons, Jarrett, and Scooby had to cover their eyes. Then with a suddeness to which none of the three expected all glowing brightness stopped.
"Honored One, my powers have sought those to who your desired wish was for their return to what they once lived. I must apologize to the Honored' one! None, of those who sought paradise in another form could be returned to their former lives. All who came before you and those even of the family of visitors like yourselves have surcomed to their beastly desires. Some indeed have found for them a paradise unmatched, yet their are others who wander in fear! Those that wander are lost from emotions and lust, their lives will be short unless they find a family to whom they can be part." explained as he announced to Jarrett.
Jarrett hung his head down and turned he walked to a dark corner of the throne room.
Scooby was busy asking the Professor something when the Medallion's booming voice broke in saying, "Oh you of small mind and vague desires , have you not learned from what you just heard?"
Scooby stopped his jabbering to the Professor and faced the Medallion. Jarrett looked up from where he stood feeling ever so low. The Professor stepped past Scooby to stand before the Medallion.
"Medallion, he is young and not experienced in the ways of life! Please I humbly ask your indulgence to forgive his babbling's and...."the Professor was saying.
"NO DAMN IT! I was asking if it might be possible to grant me an ability to change from one form to another while I visit our changed friends?" blurted out Scooby.
A small glow from the Medallion and then it flickered out to it's silver luster.
"Behold another who thinks more of others then himself! Grant you wish I could but you mental patterns are not those of a highly moral and refined personality. If once and then onward your changes were made it would only take one situation or one enthatchuation to bring honor down to failure. One touch of those changed persons would bring a war between lusts and morality. In my long time upon this earth it has been the evil lusts of the flesh who won causing an obliteration of a human life. You are not strong enough of morale spirit to withstand the onslaute of such as beastly lust and instinctive desire to procreate. I would be foolish to send such as you into a quest bent on failure!" told the Medallion as Scooby stood mouth open and in tears.
"Medallion, there is not any way for those lost to return?" asked the Professor.
"No chance!" replied the Medallion quickly.
"What will I tell their loved ones when we return home?" asked the Professor of himself.
"Do you ask a question of me?" boomed the Medallion's deep bold voice.
The Professor mumbled his same thought, "I must tell their parents, but what? Tell them their children were left to be animals in a land far away, no I can not!" said the Professor.
"Your question has little merit for one so learned and with a depth in understanding the ways of life. I shall explain, of those who sought their paradise as other than to what they were born, those are lost to humanity by not resisting those beastly desires. At the moment this loss occures their entire past is wiped from history as patterns of humanity change to account for the loss. Now different honors will fall to those in sucsession, it will be their chance for greatness now!" explained some more the laws of transformation.
The Professor stood silent, Scooby's legs folded up and he plopped down indian style to the floor. It was then that Jarrett approached the Medallion once again.
"Medallion, do I understand that those who willed to be changed away from what they were also removed all of their past? I mean nobody, their families' or friends will never of had a memory of them because it would then be as if they never exsisted as people, correct?" asked Jarrett.
"Honored One has understanding! Your assumption is correct, those transformed and surcomed to lust are nolonger or ever have been a part of human history!" agreed the Medallion.
Turning around the Professor slowly walked out of the Medallion's throne room. Jarrett stood there, head bowed in silence for those of his friends lost to their bestial lust as animals. Scooby sat on his butt till what little brillant thought finally spouted from his lips.
"Could I wish to be as and with my buddy Shaggy wherever he is?" asked Scooby as Jarrett's eyes flashed his disdained look.
