Sandra at quietly in her cave, trying once again to quell the strange desires that were beginning to overwhelm her body and mind.
The feeling was annoying, but no reason to regret her transformation into a dragon. Over the past several months she had grown to love her strong and powerful body even more. She absolutely adored flying. Soaring through the sky at high altitudes filled her a feeling of freedom she had never experienced before. For the first time in her life, she was truly free. No bills to pay, no responsibility, and no one to fear. She was the apex predator in her little kingdom. No other creature came close. She had no difficulty finding food, be it a deer or even some cattle. Occasionally she fed on a human. A hunter who had intruded on her sanctuary or a just a poor lost soul. She didn't feel guilty about it. She was no longer human, so it couldn't be considered cannibalism. And the little human worms were so far beneath her she could hardly consider it evil. In her mind it was no different than when the humans ate cattle or other intelligent mammals they considered beneath them. She was just a little higher on the food chain.
Sandra had not yet had a chance to feast on Gryphon. She had seen them. At first she pursued them, chasing them around the vast wilderness. But they proved to be excellent fliers, easily outmaneuvering her larger and bulkier body. Tracking them was difficult, as they proved to be very sneaky and resourceful. They were cunning prey. While hunting them she had satisfied her need for sustenance by feasting on other prey. Over time, she spent more and more of her time in search of food, and gradually gave up her pursuit of the Gryphons. She still hated them with a passion, but found herself preoccupied with hunting easier prey.
Everything was perfect as far as she was concerned, and she began to settle into her routine when she started to notice a strange feeling building up within her. It began as tingling in her groin. Nothing painful, just a little bothersome. But over time the tingle built up to a strong burning urge that began to resonate in her brain. It was a need, a need so basic that she was surprised she hadn't felt it before. It was a need that all creatures shared - the need to mate and produce offspring. The need to breed.
As far as Sandra knew, she was the only dragon. She had no idea how to find a mate, or even if one existed . But she had to do something soon, or she was going to go insane with desire. She considered asking the fairies for help. Perhaps they could find others of her kind. Or perhaps they could make a mate for her - she suspected that Amy's blessing to her was the result of fairy magic. Maybe they could do it again. She even considered asking the accursed Gryphons. Their feud would be long forgotten if they could just rid her of the maddening urge that was slowly overwhelming her mind and reasoning.
Sandra was startled by a noise in her cave. Someone was approaching. She licked her lips in anticipation. Despite the intense desire to mate, she was still an animal and had other needs that must be met. But, she thought, maybe I can use this poor soul who wandered into my cave for something other than food this time.
She quietly waited for the intruder to round the corner, and face the magnificent and powerful dragon.
