For numerous weeks after Julia's ascension to godhood, she hadn't a second for herself, too occupied with ensuring that her own cult established itself peacefully. (Because, as the new Anubis, she was going to have a cult, liking it or not.) A task made harder by her unwillingness to see previous religious edifice be destroyed. Things only calmed down once she consented to have them converted to her own cult. (Which caused with some issue with the peoples that hadn't converted to her cult.)
All this time Molly and I acted as her bodyguard, as was our sacred task as sphinxes even if, as a goddess, nothing short of loosing her followers could harm her.
But that first day she could finally take care of some personal maters, she tasked us with protecting the person she was going to see rather than herself, namely her girlfriend, Ameline. Molly was on lookout on the roof of Ameline's apartment complex while I got posted in front of her door.
Before ringing the bell, my sister concentrated to change back her head into what it looked like the last time Ameline had seen her. But even then, as soon as she opened the door and saw Julia, she bowed to her calling “Lady Anubis!”
But Julia wouldn't have it and forced her girlfriend to stand. “Please honey, none of that between us.”
“But you've become… And I'm still… !” Blabbed Ameline.
At what Julia kissed Ameline, pouring all her love for her girlfriend into the action. When she finally broke the kiss, she asked “Do you still think I care about being a goddess when it come to our relationship?” All Ameline could de answer was to shake her head ‘no’, before guiding her divine-girlfriend to her bedroom for a greater demonstration of love.
As much as I wished it wasn't the case, because of the greater sens of hearing of a sphinx, I heard absolutely everything, which mean I could hear how exhausted Ameline was after their little seance, while my sister seemed to still be as rested as she was before it.
I also heard Julia say “I didn't realize it before, but you'll make a good Bastet. You can refuse of course, I won't love you any less for it, but please, think on it. Okay?”
