"I'll draw him as a donkey!" said Lucas. He gleefully took the black crayon in hand and drew a mane flowing down his brother's neck and back. He also drew a gray tail with a long black tassel hanging between his legs. "Ha! He looks even more like one," Lucas thought. "This is so much fun!"

I stood in awe watching my new ears tilt back and forth to take in the sounds happening around me. Already it was starting to feel more natural, as though my ears were supposed to do that all along. How was I going to go about with these things? Could I hide them? That didn't seem likely, they were just too big. What if I was stuck with them? What would my friends think?
Then I felt an itchy feeling run down my spine starting at my neck. Reaching around, I found a large patch of hair growing and turned around trying to look at it. I couldn't see it, but I knew this new hair was growing at least halfway down my back. I pulled on the hair and grimaced.
Suddenly my spine itself ached and throbbed. It was excruciating! Startled, I hunched over, clutching the bathroom sink. My ears had moved to stand out backwards past my new mane. It felt like my back didn't fit right anymore. Behind me, I seemed to be pushing something out of my butt and wondered if I had lost control of my bowels. Gradually, the pain in my back started to subside, and I stood there taking deep breaths. I looked back up at the mirror, and that from the front noticed I still looked the same. That's when I felt a swaying motion behind me and craned my neck the best I could to look down my back.
I saw a long gray tail smoothly attached to my spine. I could even feel it hanging there. There were long, rough-looking black hairs at the end of it, trailing almost to the floor. I could move it, too! It swished back and forth with only the tiniest of effort.
"No way," I muttered as I nervously picked my tail up in my hands.
