The driver pulled up to a dilapidated mansion, unkempt for years. The front yard garden was overgrown with weeds, the fountain was a wreck, the pool in the back had filthy, debris filled water, and the inside made a condemned building look like the Plaza Hotel. Jeanie and Annie exited the limo.
"Perfect! This place looks like nobody even remembers it exists, let alone cares what happens to it." Jeanie carefully led Annie to the base of the staircase leading to the front door. Looking along the roadway, just to make sure no one was driving past. Jeanie raised her hands, and before Annie's eyes, the garden was cleared of weeds and full of flowers, the fountain was repaired and altered to have beautiful mermaid statues pouring water over the upper level to a group of fairy statues dancing on the surface on the lower level, the pool was cleared of waste, and converted into a pristine artificial lake and the house itself changed into a palatial estate with a façade of a tasteful, yet girly shade of pink.
"It's beautiful!" Annie gasped. "It's like one of those Barbie houses!" She was about to run in when Jeanie put her hand on her shoulder.
"Oh, but it's still missing one important thing."
"What's that?" Annie asked.
Jeanie tapped Annie on the head and her hair styled itself into a cute pair of pigtails tied with pink ribbons, a jeweled tiara appeared on her head, her ratty clothes became a lavender and violet silk dress with a wide skirt, her unwashed socks became long stockings and her dirty, worn-out sneakers became elegant pumps. "A place like this needs a princess like you."
"Thank you, mommy!" Annie nearly sobbed as she hugged her genie mother. The two went inside the house.
