Problems leaving the hot tub

added by aylmao 7 years ago A

Marina decided that the best course of action would be to see if there was any way she could turn back. She started by taking the medallion back. She waited in anticipation, but found that she was still sitting on the edge of the hot tub with that same blue fish tail.

This was a major problem. For one thing, with the loss of her legs, Marina knew that walking was out of the question. Also, what would people think when they saw that she had returned from her vacation as a half-fish? If this change was permanent, she would definitely have to live in some sort of body of water.

Marina realized that her only other option was to see if drying off has any effect. The towel was at the other end of the room. However, the only way to get down from the height of the hot tub was by walking down the steps. Getting down from this height would not be so simple. Marina realized that she would have to slide down and hope for the best. She took a deep breath and pushed herself off, sliding through the stairs and tail first into the wall. This was lucky, considering the flexibility of her tail. She looked up at the towel a few feet away and slid towards it.

Upon grabbing the towel, Marina already knew that this excersise was probably futile. For being out of the water for only 2 minutes, she already felt an incredible dryness, and it was already getting slightly difficult to breathe. It seemed like she needed water to live, but for the sake of her effort she tried her best to dry off.

Just as she thought, drying off only made her more thirsty, and she realized after another minute that she needed to get back to the hot tub or she would surely dry out. It seemed she could only last around 4 or 5 minutes outside of water.

Marina groaned as she dragged herself towards the steps to the hot tub. Her body was almost completely useless on land and she was starting to realize that dragging her heavy body was incredibly tiring. She slowly made her way up the steps, trying her best to catch her breath and grinding her teeth as she heaved her body up the steps. Finally, as she flopped back into the water she felt sweet relief, but was also worried by the fast that she had moved no more than 20 feet in her venture and felt like she ran a mile.

Once Marina caught her breath, she looked around again, wondering what to do. This tail clearly wasn't going away and getting help would be incredibly difficult, as even if she ventured out of the tub again she knew she wouldn't be able to reach the door handle. She helplessly pondered to herself in the tub, staring at her new fin. What was she going to do now?
