While the town had a slight panic over the news of Ulysses's death, a van drove into town driven by a man unaware of the town's secret or what's been going on. The van drove up to an empty house and parked on the driveway. The door opened and revealed a man with thick glasses, a balding head ringed by orange hair, and a bit of a belly. He stretched as he said, "Man, what a long drive."
"Daaaaaaad," a female voice called out from the over side of the van, "Are we there yet, or is this yet another stop on our trip across the country?"
The man smiled at his daughter as he said, "Nope, this is it. This is our new home. What do you think?"
The young girl threw some of her long red hair over her shoulders as she looked at the house and said, "It looks like a dump,"
"Yes," her father said, "and it was a steal. Sure, it's a fixer-upper, but it's close to my new job, and away from...well, let's just say that I needed to move on with my life."
The girl sighed and said, "Well, it's been a couple of years since mom passed. It's about time that you get back on the market besides."
"What?" the man said, with a strange look on his face.
"Well, I'm just saying that you can't keep mourning over mom. I miss her too, but life needs to move on." She looked around and then said, "Man, this place really is a rural town. I don't see any malls or shopping centers, just woods and bugs."
"Well, dear, I'm sure you'll find something to do. You've been resourceful like that. Besides, you've got a couple of days before you start school. Plenty of time for you to explore in between helping me unpack our furniture and setting up our home. The moving van with the rest of our stuff will be here tomorrow. And the day after, you'll be going to school at the Moon Lake High School. For now, why don't you help me unpack the van and get our home set up."
"Fine..." she said with a sigh as he opened the back of the van. The two pulled out their suitcases and other thngs as they unloaded the van and made their way to the house.
The two explored their new house and started to unpack their things when they heard a knock on the door.

So, this is in the original "Earth-1" universe. Harold Jenkins was hired by the Moon Lake College to teach their business and economics courses. He's a widower whose wife passed away about 3 years ago due to cancer. He's 41, and a bit of a dad. His daughter is Melissa Jenkins (also known as "Mel"). She's 15 years old and just starting high school now at Moon Lake High School. The two are moving from Michigan, where Mel has been living for most of her life. She's a bit unsure of her situation.
This post takes place a day later than the main thread. It is in the morning, so it shouldn't be unusual for the two to get guests.
