Frances Twist was the first to wake. Feeling a tiny rough tongue being run all over her feline like nose, she awakes to see Jasmine doing her best to wake her up.
“You are a nuisance,” Frances looking at the tiny kitty as it mewls pleased at her accomplishment. Gathering Jasmine and her litter brother Saffron; Frances takes them to the master bathroom and gently drops them into the litter box Samantha set up earlier. Using the toilet herself; Frances watches the kittens do their business as she does her own. Pleased that the kittens are done; Frances collects them and heads back to the bedroom to see Samantha getting up.
“Morning,” Frances stating as she holds onto the hungry kittens.
“Morning love,” Samantha yawns as she stretches; “sleep well?”
“As well as can be,” Frances answering; “My dreams were peaceful despite what is going on with my mother. I am worried about her. Surprised that Samson told me that she never shunned me; like a typical Amish woman would.”
“Well correct me if I’m wrong,” Samantha collecting Jasmine and Saffron; “but didn’t your parents stop being Amish when they left Pennsylvania?”
“They never gave up on the religious beliefs and tenants as it were,” Frances sighing as she follows Samantha downstairs to the kitchen.
“Well what’s done is done,” Samantha commenting; “no sense in dragging old issues to light.”
“Not true,” Frances commenting; “before you can heal, you have to deal with the matters that caused to wounds to begin with. As a therapist it’s what I do to get my patients better.”
Samantha acquiesces to what Frances just said as they walk into the kitchen. As she gets the milk for Saffron and Jasmine; Frances gets their usual breakfast of half a grapefruit and a bran muffin ready. Ben soon enters in his werewolf fursona and sees his mother’s just sitting down for breakfast.
“Morning,” Ben yawns.
“Still tired;” Frances asks.
“Well I just woke up,” Ben staring at the kitchen clock seeing that it’s seven in the morning; “I’m just going to grab some cereal for breakfast.” Ben grabbing a bowl and filling it up with something sugary and milk; he quickly wolfs it down at the kitchen sink and heads back upstairs to get ready for school.
“Guess we should get ready as well,” Samantha sighing as she stares at her breakfast.
“Not hungry,” Frances asks; or is something on your mind?”
“Samson,” Samantha answers; “why now? Why try to get your parents to reconcile with you now?”
“I don’t know,” Frances answers; “but I would like to have Christmas dinner with him, if not at his place then here.”
“Preferably here,” Samantha responds while eating her grapefruit; “less chance of it being microwaved bean burritos and canned pasta.”
Frances laughs, “Oh my; he wouldn’t.”
“If it would get a rise out of you he would,” Samantha chuckles; “please talk to him later today about it all. I want to know before I start shopping for the turkey and fixings.”
“How about a goose this year instead,” Frances asks as she finishes her breakfast; “I find the supermarket turkeys dry.”
“I’ll look into that,” Samantha answering; “just call Samson up to make sure if he can’t get your parents to reconcile, he would like to spend Christmas over here instead.”
Both Frances and Samantha get up as they finish breakfast. Samantha collecting her adoptive kittens; they both head upstairs to de-fur and get ready for work.
