Refusing to leave her room unless he got an explanation proved to be an effective strategy as Veronica did not want to make a scene.
“OK here is the deal. I changed school so that starting in the 8th grade you get a choice of what sport you would like to participate in for the next five years. Depending on availability you might not get your first choice, and if you don’t chose a sport the school system assigns a sport to you that it thinks will fit you.
Your next five years in school will be dedicated to enjoying and perfecting your skills at your given sport.“
“You know I hate sport!” Ken interjected.
Veronica let out a small sigh and continued “Well sure I knew that, but who says it will be the same as ordinary sports? You saw me going to different sections of the book right?
Well I made changes to sports.
Sports are now sexual in some way, When you are a beginner its quite tame but as one gets more proficient at the sport you have to do naughtier things. What these things are depends on what fits with the sport so tennis might be tame, and chess might be naughty.
We will have to see what the book decides I left it quite vague.”
Ken looked a mix between dumbstruck and in terror.
Sure exploring his new found sexuality was something he wanted very much to do but…
Veronica looked down and noticed Ken's semi-hardon.
“Well” she said. “I wanted to keep this last bit a surprise but I cant send you to bed with such a fearful expression on your face.”
“The last thing I changed was about Sport and Puberty. I wrote that depending on what sport you practice and how good you are at it your body releases hormones to make you better at it.
This way even if your small and spindly and you want to be a bodybuilder the more you train yourself the more will your body change to reflect that”
Ken had never liked sports since almost all the boys where better and bigger, this could change that. However he had a nagging feeling that all these changes together might..
Three knocks sounded and Ellen entered.
“Your father and I are eager to hear the news.
And then its off to bed for you young man. You have a big day ahead of you tomorrow.”
“News” both Ken and Veronica questioned.
“Don't be silly Veronica haven’t you been helping him with the questionnaire? Why else would he be in here at this late hour dear.”
“Questionnaire oh yes we where just about to fill it in now.” Veronica nervously spluttered out. Ken was looking like a deer caught in the headlights.
“Oh dear oh dear” Ellen sighed.
“The deadline for turning in your preferences was 10 minutes ago.
“Well cheer up Ken even if you are a 'Noncho' there is some good news”
“A 'Noncho'” Ken asked.
“A non chooser dear. This year they have implemented a new algorithm to make it so that the athletic talent of the Nocho's aren’t wasted and according to the news with this algorithm you will have a 70% higher likelihood to succeed in the given sport compared to if you chose one yourself.”
“Regardless dear I will be proud of you no matter what.”
“Speaking of pride, Veronica why haven’t you told me your choice for the university even if you...”
Seeing Veronica's face blanch, Ellen huffed and continued
“Seems like tomorrow will be a day of surprises for all of us.
Now Ken you will head to bed while I have a chat whit your sister.”
