Calling Daisuke; Evan gets a terse message of “I’ll brief you when you get to the office.” Getting hanged up on; Evan growls as he starts to defur and put his clothes on. Flying out the door with his father looking concerned; It took Evan a few minutes to get to the office. The office in question was at one time the original city hall of Moon Lake; now the head office of Tachibana Enterprises. As Evan enters, he nods to the security guard at the front desk. With his key card, Evan buzzes himself inside and then proceeds to upper floor where he works.
“Sorry for calling you in during your leave,” Daisuke grumbling; “I’m sure Maggie must not be thrilled, what with your baby on the way.”
“She gave birth yesterday;” Evan looking at the meeting room to see the sheriff and a female he immediately picked up as a werewolf.
“Oh,” Daisuke looking surprised; “Congratulations then. What is the gender of your new child?”
“A boy,” Evan sitting down to stare at a tablet on the table with an FBI logo on the screen; “Evan Junior is his name.”
“Well then is a really bad time,” Daisuke sighing; “but we need to deal with a matter that has come up.”
“What we are all looking at,” The female speaking; “is the files the FBI has on Daniel and Frederick Parker as well as their known associates.”
“Evan,” Daisuke speaking; “while you may not have heard, Peter Talbot was shot last night.”
“I heard,” Evan speaking; “Nate Anderson told me as he was with his mate Jean Talbot at the hospital. I was also at the hospital,” Evan looking up at everyone at the table.
“That’s right,” Daisuke speaking; “your wife and new born son, Agent Reed can you continue?”
“This morning,” Agent Reed briefing everyone in the room; “Frederic Parker or Freddie the shark as he is known as, came to Moon Lake to get his son out of Jail. Daniel Parker was the perp who shot Peter Talbot.”
“His courtroom full of Lawyers,” Sheriff Cooper adding; “Couldn’t bamboozle the judge to let the young Parker free. Plus Daniel has a warrant for bail jumping and the FBI wants him for running an illegal gambling racket out of his gym in San-Francisco.”
“So there will be an extradition hearing,” Evan looking through the tablet and slowly viewing the criminal past of everyone; “what is Daniel being charged with here?
“Attempted aggravated murder is the big charge,” Sheriff Cooper speaking; “Peter did nearly die after being shot at.”
Evan was absently listening on as he perused the various digital photos taken of Freddie the Shark. Every photo he could see the same sandy blonde hair man with thick black shades and a crooked nose in them.
“Does anyone know who this person is with Freddie,” Evan getting up to put the photo on the big screen tv thanks to Tachibana’s intranet network.
“We don’t have much regarding him,” Agent Reed searching her tablet; “sources say he is Freddie’s bodyguard and he is from the Ukraine. His name is Chelnik,” Agent Reed sighs; “that’s all we have on him. Oddly enough, I never saw him in the courthouse earlier today.”
“He is a former Spetsnaz,” Evan growling; “and if he is here in Moon Lake, than he is who we need to keep an eye on. Cause this man,” Evan looking at everyone; “is trouble.”
“Spetsnaz,” Sheriff Cooper looking confused; “what is that?”
“Russian Special Forces,” Daisuke answering; “their version of the Navy Seals.”
“Only nastier,” Evan recalling a classified mission he was on; “I need to make a call to a friend of mine. He might have pull to get us Chelnik’s military history from the Russian’s. But until then, do not let this man out of your sight.”
“What about Leon Talbot,” Sheriff Cooper asking; “we need to make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid.”
“We’ll have people keeping an eye on him and his family,” Daisuke answering; “my grandmother will hopefully speak to him and make it clear that unless Freddie attacks first, the lion king is to do nothing.”
“And the rest of Freddie’s entourage,” Sheriff looking at the criminal history of everyone listed.
“I’d suggest rounding them all up and putting them in a black pit,” Evan speaking; “but since Agent Reed is here, I guess we can’t take a page from former president Ronald Regan and go Delta Force on their asses like he did with the drug cartels of Central America.”
“My director would greatly disapprove of that,” Agent Reed looking at Evan; “but answer me, How do you know Chelnik was Spetsnaz?”
“As a former Navy Seal,” Evan looking at the agent; “that is classified as it relates to a mission I was once on.”
“It would help if the FBI has access to that file,” Agent Reed speaking.
“I’m sure you’ll get it eventually,” Evan answering; “but the Pentagon will bury you in red tape until your retirement. Right now it’s best to let me contact a friend I have in Interpol,” Evan getting up; “I only hope he is still there. It has been twenty years since we last talked.”
Get on it then,” Daisuke speaking; “the more information we have on a former Spetsnaz, the better.”
Evan leaving the meeting room as Daisuke continues to talk with the Sheriff and Agent Reed; Evan heads to his office and sighs.
“After all these years,” Evan sighing; “I hope you still remember me old friend.”
Picking up the phone, Evan begins to call up his old Interpol contact, hoping the man on the other end will help him get information regarding Chelnik.
