Timmy stared at the computer and then at Jake. "No! I don't wanna be a little kid any more! We gotta find that program!"
Jake started to feel tears in his eyes. It was bad enough being 7 years old, but he just thought of something else. "We saved our age as 7 and shut the program off. What if that locked us in like this? We might never grow up again!"
"Stuck in second grade forever?" Timmy stared down at himself, and did start to cry. "I wanna grow up!"
Jake looked at the computer and frowned. "This stuff is real old. We had a computer like this when I was real little. But Mom and Dad wouldn't keep it this long." His eyes widened, and he ran to the window and looked down at the driveway. "Oh, no!"
"What is it?" Timmy sniffed and joined him. A big station wagon was parked in front of the house, not the van that Jake's Mom usually drove.
"That's the old car! Mom and Dad traded it in years ago!"
"It doesn't look old." Timmy suddenly caught on to what Jake was saying. "It isn't old! Oh, no!" He ran over to the computer and fumbled with the mouse. "Windows 95! And look at the date!"
They both stared at the little text block in horror. "The program sent us back to when we really were seven years old! It doesn't even exist now!"
Jake nodded. "We've got to wait until we grow up again before the program will even be there for us to use!"
