Once you and Corey reached the cove, you saw that not one of the mermaids was there. Still holding hands, you both clamber over the rocks and sit down side-by-side on the largest one, where Lorelei sat last night.
Though, unsure you would meet the mermaids here tonight, as you were not expected until tomorrow, but waiting for any sign of them approaching nonetheless; you look over at Corey with her eyes closed, and see her hairs lighting up at the tips like yours were. At the least, you were in this together, whatever was happening.
You both get the urge to start your song again, but this time, rather than humming, you begin to sing out loud. It was the exact same melody, unchanged and sang as if you'd practiced it all your life. You and Corey squeezed your hands together tightly as you continued singing. You could almost guess the purpose of the song by now; like a bit of trivia on the tip of your tongue that just won't come out.
Once you were finished, the moon was nearly setting, and you and Corey pulled each other into a hug. "I... I'm scared Millie." She whimpered.
"Me, too; Corey." You answered, likewise.
