Ty's Power

Ty Tells Nate About His Mistake

added 6 years ago O

“Why can’t you look at me?” Nate insisted, dragging Ty out to the front porch.

“You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you,” Ty replied.

“I think after seeing Alex and Mike practically undressing each other with their eyes, I could probably believe anything at this point,” Nate said. “You can trust me. Just tell me, man.”

“Ok fine,” Ty said, and he proceeded to tell Nate all about his wishing power, when it started, what he wished for, what he had turned himself and others into, and finally the last wish he made. The whole time Ty refused to look at Nate.

“So you have this ability to wish for anything you want, and it will come true,” Nate said, making sure he understood. “And so you were wanting to turn Brandy’s friend gay so he wouldn’t try to take her away from you like he was planning on doing. But when you made your wish, you used the phrase ‘the guy I’m looking at’. So now, every guy you look at is both completely gay and has no problem showing off that change. And that’s why you won’t look at me. Did I follow that correctly?” Ty nodded.

Nate sighed and said, “If I hadn’t seen Alex and Mike turn gay before my very eyes, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But I do believe you.” He then shook his head. “But you got one thing wrong.” Ty said nothing, but his body language gave off his confusion. “Did you forget that you’ve already looked at me repeatedly on the way to this place when I was telling you about Hawaii?”

“But…but how are you-?” Ty began.

“The second part of your wish says that guys you look at become okay with showing off their change, aka that they turned gay,” Nate interrupted. “Do you see me showing off? No. Why? Because I didn’t change.”

“Wait,” Ty paused, slowly turning his head to look at Nate. “But that means…” he trailed off.

“Surprise, you dipshit, I’ve BEEN gay!” Nate finished for him. “Since high school!” He shook his head and looked at the ground. He looked back up at Ty, “Do you have anything to say at all?”

“Yeah,” Ty said, standing up. “But why didn’t you tell me that you were gay?”

“You never asked,” Nate said. “It’s not exactly something I’d shout from the rooftops about.”

“Well, I guess I’m glad I didn’t accidentally change you then,” Ty said.

“Me too,” Nate said. “So now what?"
