"Hey honey," I said, "I got some good news, you may be able to get a job."
Molly eagerly wagged her tail, "Really what kind of job."
"Well you know my friend Robert in the Drug Enforcement Agency?" I said.
"Yeah," was Molly's response.
"Well, he's got a opening for you."
"Really what kind of an opening."
"He wasn't you on a special task force, using your special nose to sniff out drugs."
Molly was appalled, "You mean like a police dog."
I could tell she didn't like this offering. I then told her, "You'd be treated just like a normal officer with normal pay and benefits. You'd even carry a gun and have a badge and everything. Of course you would be sniffing out drugs, but you'd also be able to make arrests and fill out the standard paper work and come on raids, just like the other DEA officers."
Molly was still reluctant. "I don't know Nate," she said, "The other officers might make fun of me."
I answered back, "look you could try it out, who knows they may be very accepting."
"I guess your right," Molly replied, "but, I still don't know what illegal drugs smell like."
"Well, they train real dogs what drugs smell like, I'm sure they can train you. In fact it will be easier for you, since you actually know human language." I responded.
Molly was looking more positive now, but still had doubts. "OK, I will think about it and give you an answer tomorrow,"
"I want to know right now," was all I could say.
All she could say was, "Baby, baby let me sleep on it I'll give you an answer in the morning."
I decided to change the subject then, "Ok then, what is for dinner?"
She smiled at me and said, "Meatloaf."
