There were plenty of people who had come to the premiere opening of the Mieni Atoll Nautical Museum. One of the most recognizable personages there was Iphis and Ianthe, as the two-headed snaked could be recognized anywhere. But they weren't there just to look at the new exhibits. They were here on their first official date with Typhoon and Waterlily.
That wasn't to say that they haven't spent plenty of time with the Los Angeles pair before this. After all, they had been staying at the Python Penthouse during the IAC. But the conjoined twins' schedule was so busy with the IAC between the games they were participating in and the exhibit where they showcased their unique polycephalic and hermaphroditic body. Still, there have been plenty of 'mini-dates', which mainly consisted of trips to small restaurants. But at least the four of them have been able to take the time to get to know each other.
They dressed a bit more casually than what was usually expected at a museum opening, namely because Mieni was a tropical island. Waterlily was wearing a tye-dye shirt as vibrant as any Hawaiian shirt and similarly, though contrasting, colored shorts. Typhoon wore a sleeveless white shirt and blue jean shorts. Iphis and Ianthe wore a black tank top that did a lot to emphasize their impressive bust. It also gave a good frame to show off their medals that they were wearing for the occasion. Though considering they had three medals and two necks, they couldn't just wear them normally without being uneven. So the three medals (bronze for swimming, silver for bodybuilding, and gold for javelin throwing) were strung together on a necklace that looped around both their necks.
"This museum design is, like, way fabulous," said Waterlily, "Its vibes match the sea so well."
"The facts about the sea are pretty cool too," said Iphis, looking at the various exhibits.
"Did you know any of these nautical facts?" asked Ianthe.
"Well, yeah, quite a lot, actually," said Typhoon. The others gave him a look at that. "My dad's a sailor, remember?"
"Oh, sorry," said Ianthe with a wince.
"We didn't mean to make you think of him," said Iphis.
"It's alright," said Typhoon, "It's my dad I have issues with, not the sea. I actually not nautical history as long I'm not having to act like a naval recruit."
"Typhoon's like the sea," said Waterlily, "You can't really restrain him and force him into shape. He has to, like, be free to flow and move as he pleases, you know?"
"Not really, but I think I get what you're trying to say," said Ianthe.
"Well, the kraken's pretty awesome," said Iphis, trying to change the subject.
"It's so sad that a majestic creature of the deep had to come to an end like that," said Waterlily, "Peace is the only true resolution to any conflict."
"I don't think you have peace talks with a squid," said Typhoon, "It was a pretty much life or death situation."
"It makes me glad I'm a vegetarian," said Waterlily.
"Er, you know that if you did become a snake, you'd have to become a carnivore, right?" asked Ianthe.
Waterlily blinked before saying, "I remembered that part. But you don't kill without reason. You're doing what nature wants and helping the circle of life keep moving. I've just been preparing my aura for the great transition and convince it that meat is acceptable for the soul."
"This isn't going to be another song, is it?" asked Iphis.
"Speaking of songs, I'm really pumped for the Aqua Marina concert later," said Typhoon, changing the subject again.
"Oh yes," agreed Waterlily, "The underwater vibes she'll be giving will be totally psychedelic."
"No getting high during the concert," said Ianthe.
"We want to be able to spend the whole evening being able to have a straight conversation," said Iphis.
"You don't know need it to really get into the groove," said Typhoon.
"You don't know what you're missing," said Waterlily, "But I can hold back." Their relationship might not be very fast by Animalian norms, but it was showing plenty of signs of strengthening.
