Emily raised the curtain inside the Viewport so her
neo-American friend Cara
was confronted by the horrible truth
of
the year 7979AD
The dolphin gasped in horror as her rosy dream
of swimming through the oceans of Earth were
completely shattered
Through the Viewport she could see the lifeless charred and brown dustball that
had once been called Earth.
A passing asteroid had swept through two thousand years
earlier and
boiled away the oceans and
swpt away Earth's
atmosphere.
It was now deader than Mars.
The space arks had been launched shortly before that planet destroying event
and went on a orbit a million miles or so around the dead husk.
Emily could tell her friend Cara was losing it again
and quickly gave her the tf reversion nanobytes and then a good shot
of sleeping soma.
Once Cara was out for several hours
Emily trotted along the syntho decks till
she reached her boyfriend Ivan,who
managed the star ships that travelled btween Jozef Stalin XI
and the other spread out human colonies,both planets
and space arks.
Ivan listened carefully as Emily ,a recent arrival from a more liberated and freethinking
neo American space
ark
was threatening the collectives latest 50 year plan.
The Poliburo would not be impressed
and had the legal authority to harvest Emily if
she did not toe the Party line.
Out here in space "harvest" was
generally a fatal thing.
"We need to call Him for help" said Ivan
after a few minutes of thought
"Him?" replied Emily"
"Yes Him" confirmed a grim faced Ivan
"Herr Plumber Who?,Master of Time and Space in toilets!!!"
Ivan pushed the flashing big red button that sat on a column all by itself on a deck
at least 40 acres in area ( big space arks those Soviet era
space arks were)
and with the sound of flushing water and burbling bubbling effluent
