Katie braided her young aunt's hair which she was happy about. As the young Lisa sat there feeling her niece braiding her hair, she thought about her sister and the good times she spent with her. It made Lisa cry just a little bit as Katie finished braiding her hair.
"Katie, thank you. This was very nice of you, but do you think you could turn me back now? I feel really uncomfortable wearing such baggy clothes." Lisa asked her niece.
"Are you sure? You could be seven for just a bit longer?" Katie suggested.
"Katherine Audra O’Toole..." The young Lisa said tapping her foot on the floor.
Katie couldn't help but giggle a little hearing her young at talk in such a serious tone.
"Okay, I wish Aunt Lisa was physically 35 again." Katie wished with the ring and whispered something.
"Oh, I feel that draft again, it's starting." Lisa said as she began to age back up.
As Lisa began to age back up, her clothes began to fit her once again and pretty soon, she was back to being 35 again, however she did notice something a little different about herself.
"Wait...did I lose weight?" Aunt Lisa asked looking into the mirror.
"I may have wished for you to have lost some weight before you became your normal age again." Katie admitted.
"Well, thanks for that moment. I needed it, but listen....I did want to ask you something." Lisa said rubbing her neck.
"What is it? Are you and Jason getting married already?" Katie asked sounding excited.
"Married?! Whoa! not so fast there kiddo, I don't want things to move that fast. No, it's.....about you." Lisa said as she took a deep breath.
"Katie, I'm not sure how much you remember about your mother now. Seeing as how you were just a baby when she died and I know I've basically raised you since then, and I've always been fine with you calling me your aunt, which I am. But Jason suggested to me that I finally legally adopt you as my daughter, what do you say?" Lisa asked her.
Katie's eyes began to swell up as all the memories she had of her Aunt Lisa raising her came flooding into her mind. From Lisa helping her learn to ride a bike, to encouraging Katie to first become friends with Kellie, and so many more up to now, she couldn't help but cry.
"I would like that....mom." Katie cried as she and Lisa tearfully hugged each other.
"Now, you should really be getting to bed." Aunt Lisa said to her as they broke the hug.
"Oh, do I have to?" Katie whined.
"Now, young lady." Lisa said looking at her with a stern face.
"Yes Aunt...I mean, mom." Katie said feeling good about calling Lisa that.
Katie got ready for bed and was about to go to sleep when her phone rang and saw it was Kellie. She then remembered she was going to call her later, and almost forgot.
"Hi, how are you doing?" Kellie asked from the other side of the phone.
"Good....I just had a nice talk with my aunt. She's going to legally adopt me as her daughter." Katie told her girlfriend.
"Oh honey, that's so beautiful. I got a call from the girls, they want to meet us tomorrow at the mall." Kellie said.
"Great, I'll be there."
"Great, goodnight Kat, I love you."
"Goodnight Kellie, I love you too." Katie said hanging up her phone and going to bed.
