By now it was almost ‘sunhigh’.
As I crept inside, I was met with the unformilar sight of dozens upon dozens of shelves; all lined with extremely interesting looking items.
It was quite overwhelming.
I scanned each shelf carfully before continuing on.
I padded past strange bottles, filled with the colors that I had only seen in a rainbow before. I went through mazes of delicate stones, most attached to some sort of metallic thread.
And yet there was still more.
My tail twitched back and forth.
I had clearly been wrong to think of this only as a tiny human shop in a forgotten forest. The owner of this shop certainly seemed like he or she was prepared for a lot of business...
An unexpected worry ucured to me.
What would happen if this store Did become popular? What if more humans began to arrive and set up nests? What would that mean for the forest, and the veryess pine trees and bushes I called home?!
I had to go. I had to get out of this human dwelling, maybe even think about leaving these woods antirly.
But when I was just about to race for the door, my sensitive ears caught the almost silent sound of approaching footsteps...
Human footsteps in fact.
I could tell because they didn’t had the same feel as a creature on all fours.
I stiffened.
The footsteps drew nearer and nearer. I swore that they could hear my heart hammering in my chest.
Quickly I dove for the nearest shelter! Scrambling quietly under a display over flowing with worn, leather books, I heard the footsteps abruptly stop right outside my hideout. This was it, I thought.
I closed my narrowed eyes and drew my whiskers back from harm, preparing to be dragged out from under, clutched in an iron grip...
But the hands, never came.
Slowly, ever so frightfully, I dared to peek out...
What I saw startled me greatly!
Two pairs of feet, clothed in some sort of tough looking martial, were rooted to the spot right in front of me!
I flinched so much, I was even more surprised to see them not notice.
These clothed feet definitely belonged to a human. Two humans, to be exact. Apparently the other human had walked so quietly, I hadn’t even noticed them.
Both people seemed to be intently intrigued by something above me.
Perhaps one of the books.
But no, they weren’t even looking in my general direction. So it couldn’t be the books.
Hmmm..., I thought, Maybe one of the chained stones?
I decided to muster up enough courage to peer out again...
