As the rain cloud draped over the last rays of twilight, Ray's bliss of being outdoors started to reach melancholy stage. The air grew heavy in anticipation of a downpour, and he quickly turned around and walked back at a quicker pace. He started thinking back to a few weeks ago, when he was still prepping for spring term finals at his college. Ray considered himself a pretty good student, but that overconfidence resulted in his tendency to be quite hasty and lazy when it comes to college work. His less-than-hoped-for grades upset him greatly, and he had resolved to fix it this term or face the consequences of a low grade, but alas, he had bombed one of his final tests because the problems were much more detailed than what he had expected. The first drops of rain tickled Ray's nose, and his pace transitioned into a jog. Normally he would be out of breath, but since summer break started, he had been working out, running every morning. After a few weeks he was even starting to see some muscle on his skinny arms, much to his delight. Despite his bodily improvements, his thoughts kept going back to his regrets this last term. Having worn loose pants, the stone kept jiggling in his pocket before he finally decided to just take it out and hold it in his hand while running. Huffing, he muttered under his breath. "I wish I was back to the morning of the exam now that I know what to study..."
Blackness.
Ray awoke to a blaring noise. With much expertise, he reached out and shut off the alarm. He slowly opened his eyes. He was in bed. "Was it a dream?" He mumbled with a yawn. He picked up his phone. " 8 a.m. Thursday June 11th." He put it down and stretched before he froze with his eyes wide open. "Wait." He turned on his side again to pick it up again with haste. "It is definitely July right now! Is my phone broken?" he hurried over to his desk and opened his laptop. Lo and behold, that June was plastered everywhere online, and the celebrity scandal that took over the media in the past few days was no where to be seen. "Holy Shit. I am literally back to the day of the Exam."
