Bill was scrolling through Jeff’s various statistics when something jumped up into his view. They family cat, Oscar, had jumped onto the keyboard looking for attention.
Despite the cat’s inability to fix machines, Bill still loved the cat and picked him up in one hand as he continued to look at the computer.
There was something new in the game window, a short pop up asking, “Would you like to continue?”
Of course, thought Bill. I want to keep looking through this. Damn cat must’ve tried to close the window.
Bill moved the mouse and hit continue. To Bill’s surprise the entire window disappeared and was replaced by another one, this time with a countdown clock for a minute along with some words underneath.
“Target is semi-aware,” Bill read out loud. “Reality altering, Unaware populous?”
Bill suddenly felt a bit empty inside. Why had he been looking at Jeff’s computer? This window seemed suspicious though, and just as the timer ran out and a bright green ‘Conplete’ sign appeared, Bill closed the windows and turned off his sons computer. He’d have to go talk to his son about downloading things, especially things like this that could contain viruses.
Bill walked down to the garage and opened the door. Jeff spun around looking a bit confused, as if in a daze.
“Hey!” Bill shouted at him. “When you’re done out here, check your computer. Make sure you didn’t download malware you computer freak. I’m not buying you a new computer.”
Jeff gulped and simply nodded his head very fast without saying a word.
Dumb kid, Bill thought as he closed the door.
“What kind of change could he have downloaded to his computer in a minute without me noticing?” Bill muttered to himself as he walked to get some lunch.
