Nathan tilted his own head, but only out of a moment of embarrassment.
"That's right. I'm playing a character named Emily. She's the eldest daughter of the family in the show."
In response, Laura recaptured her words.
"That's what I don't get. How is that even possible?"
"The company making the show has access to technology that can transform people into any form they design. This has apparently been going on for some time so it must be legit. I guess they just wanted to try something different for me. But that's all. Whatever. It's still just a job at the end of the day."
"Yeah but...you? A girl?"
"It's the best they could offer. All the other roles were taken. It's still better than nothing..."
"Well," a smirk crept onto her face as Laura pointed out Nathan's already blonde and lengthy hair, "Maybe they're onto something. Have you seen yourself?"
Nathan was offended by that.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Laura's confusion turned into amusement.
"Maybe they imagined you without that awful beard..."
"Shut up," he grunted as he gently slapped Laura's hand out of his hair.
In response, Laura stepped back, now pleased to have a clear vision of what was about to happen.
"So," she said, continuing her investigation, "when's this TF gonna happen then?"
"Don't call it that. It's weird..."
"Oh, I've already seen your browser history. When's your first day as a girly girl then, huh?"
"My first day's on Monday. They want me to get used to the new form before we start shooting on Friday."
"Oooh," Laura's impish behaviour continued. "I'd better dig out some of my old clothes for you then..."
"Oh no," Nathan suddenly snapped, appalled by such an idea, "That won't be necessary."
"How come?"
