As soon as Kellie arrived back in her own timeline, she was already feeling better. Her hand became solid and opaque again. Nevertheless, Merlin insisted she get some bed rest. Kellie couldn't argue with him about it. She still felt pretty weak from her brief trip.
As Kellie lied on her bed, Merlin presently brought her some lunch, some nice grilled cheese sandwiches. "Dad, is this going to happen every time I visit my original timeline?" asked Kellie.
"Eventually, you'll be able to spend longer periods there," said Merlin, "That will depend upon your magic reserves building up."
"So, supposedly, if I made myself older, I could stay there longer," said Kellie.
"Yes, but don't try to do that right now," said Merlin, "You need to recover your strength. And Kellie, this is very important, never go back to that reality without telling me."
"I don't intend to stay long enough to disappear," said Kellie.
"No, but something could happen," said Merlin, "Your portal back may end up closing or you might forget your belt. And Morgan would find you an easy target there. All she would need to do is trap you until you fade from existence."
"But, you'd be able to bring me back, right?" asked Kellie.
"Raising the dead is hard enough, but bringing someone back from oblivion is near-impossible," said Merlin, "I would damn well try, but I can't guarantee even I could bring you back." Kellie could see how serious Merlin was. He almost never used profanity.
"Well, I guess we'll have to plan my next visit more carefully," said Kellie, "It'll have to be at a time where Lisa and Ann are together."
"And Ann is in a state of mind to be able to understand," said Merlin.
"What do you mean?" asked Kellie.
"Oh, she's been having quite a bit of playtime as her younger self," said Merlin, "Harmless, so long as there's someone around to fully remember. Anyways, you are not to jump realities for at least 24 hours."
"Well, there ought to be something I could be doing," said Kellie. She thought for a few moments before saying, "You said that Gloria's epilepsy was caused by Morgan's magic, right?"
"Yes," said Merlin.
"Then your magic should be able to cure her," said Kellie.
"Yes and no," said Merlin, "There are different ways for a witch to weaken someone's heart. It could be the evil eye, it could sympathetic magic, some type of poison. I would have to know what kind of curse Morgan used and how she put it on Gloria before I could cure her."
"Well, since I'm not getting out of this bed anytime soon, I suppose I should start reading to find out," said Kellie.
Merlin gave Kellie a proud smile. Kellie would make a good sorceress when she was fully grown. "I'll get you what books might help," he said before getting up, "And eat those sandwiches. You need to get your strength back."
"Yes, Dad," said Kellie as Merlin walked out.
