The first family that showed up to look at you confused you quite a bit. You didn't even realize it was a family at first. Just one day you woke from a nap to see a pair of mice perched on the edge of your crib. They stood on their hind legs at humans and were looking down at you.
"He looks so precious." One of the mice, a female spoke up.
"He certainly looked peaceful when he was asleep." The other mouse a male spoke.
"Are you two sure this is the one you want to adopt?" The third voice you recognized as the kangaroo lady. You tried to move around on your back till you could see her. She wasn't exactly standing close to your crib, but you could just barely make out the edge of her hair. "I just mean a human is a bit bigger than what you'd normally have."
"Human or mouse, he needs a loving home right?" The female mouse asked. "Besides, you can make arrangements right?"
"That... I can do." The kangaroo lady admitted slowly. "I just wanted to make sure."
"Great!" The male mouse spoke up. "Then go ahead and prepare the paperwork and we'll get it signed."
You were groggy from waking up... And being a tiny infant did make it difficult for you to focus. But you were pretty sure the kangaroo was talking about adopting you out to a pair of mice. That idea was a little absurd, but you couldn't voice your concern in a coherent manner being unable to talk. What would it be like growing up? Mice didn't exactly eat like humans... Or wear clothes. It was true you were naked right now... But you were also a baby and that made it slightly less of a big deal. You assumed whatever happened you would get clothes again but you didn't even know if the mice understood what clothing was.
Still... All you could do was wait. Then the kangaroo lady eventually showed up and lifted you out of your cage. She seemed to sense your anxiety as she slowly rocked you, and despite your best efforts you calmed down and just began to cling to her. Then she walked you over to a metal machine and sat you down on top of it.
"This will only take a few seconds." She replied as she turned on the machine. It was then...
