Emily wasn't quick enough to grab the camera from the damn dog as the camera flashed. Emily felt a wave of distortion, confusion, and sickness wash over her. She couldn't see anything, but she could feel things changing. Reality seemed to shift around her before she could open her eyes again.
Emily opened her eyes and saw she was no longer at the kitchen table. From her new perspective, she found that she was sitting on the living room floor, looking at the kitchen. She also quickly noticed that she was sitting on a sort of mat with 4 posts and a net around her? Emily pieced it together and she realized what it was. She was in a play pen.
Emily tried to stand but could barely hold herself up before she fell back on her ass. She managed to get on her knees and glance around the room. It was messier than before with baby toys all over. There was more furniture as well, but it was all very different than before. Even the colors of the walls were different.
Emily then saw a wall mirror and got a good look at herself. She didn't see herself, only a baby girl. The baby had a big head with whisky brown locks, a cute face, and an adorable pink onesie. Emily looked down and was mortified to see that the mirror wasn't lying. She felt herself with her stubby fingers and confirmed what she saw. She was even wearing a large diaper.
She fell back down and began to cry. She didn't want to, but the baby body she now had seemed very responsive to minor emotions. Jacki walked over, picked Emily up, and began rocking her.
"There there baby girl, mommy got you." She said.
Emily was surprised Jacki was her new mother and not Laura. Emily pieced together that the new furniture was because Jacki lived here now instead of Laura. Emily stopped crying and Jacki placed her in a highchair. Laura and Jacki continued to talk.
"Yup Laura, it's now been about 5 months since I adopted this cutie. You're gonna love being a momma." She said.
"I don't know sis... I hope you're right." Laura sadly replied.
Emily was beyond upset. She couldn't walk or talk or do anything on her own. She was stuck at the mercy of these two women. She started to tear up as she realized this might've been divine punishment for all the meddling she did. She may be stuck as a baby but at least she's not a broken pool toy.
Emily sat in sadness as she looked down and saw Rufus still had the camera. She didn't know if she should go for it or just accept her fate. Her guilt said one thing but her brain said something else. Luckily she didn't have to make a choice as Jacki noticed Rufus.
"No! Bad dog! Give it here!" She yelled as she pulled the camera from his mouth.
Emily realized that it was her duty to fix things. She needed to restore this family. Jacki had it so Emily just had to hope she'd get a picture taken of her, and that it was a good change.
