As they stepped through the portal, Kyle was amazed at what he saw. Talforious's home was out of this world. Iron supports, which reminded Kyle of latitude and longitudes markers, held together the giant glass sphere they were inside of. Under his feet, a circular opaque sheet of glass divided the two hemispheres, and provided a flat surface to stand on. Outside, Kyle could see nothing but blue sky and clouds. There was no ground in sight anywhere. The whole contraption floated like a bubble on the breeze, unconcerned with the pull of gravity. In the center of the room, there was a plain wooden desk with some chairs facing it. Mr. Dormitabis was looking around, calling for the wizard to appear.
"Ally, can you believe..."
He looked at his sister. Ally had gone through some serious changes. She was sporting pointed dog ears, and a large German-Shepherd tail wagged behind her. Her nose had turned pitch black, while her hands and feet resembled oversize paws. She was sitting on all fours, letting her long dog tongue pant happily. Kyle dimly noticed that even her clothes had changed. She was no longer wearing shoes or socks, and her pants had a large tail hole sewed in them.
"What a, woof, cool house!" She barked out in mostly English.
Wait, English? Kyle realized the triggers might work. "Ally, Barbie Doll!"
That got a reaction, but not the one he was expecting. Ally charged at her brother on all fours, and pinned him to the floor. She growled menacingly at him.
"Grrrr... stop freaking call me that. I'm a Good Girl. Not that. It gives me such a freaking headache. A Good Girl."
Kyle sweated nervously as Ally's claws were ripping his shirt slightly. Her face was close enough that he could see her razor sharp canines, and the drool that dripped from her mouth.
"I'm a Good Dog." She firmly stated.
Then, hearing her own words, her head cocked up, and she let out a happy bark. Momentarily forgetting why she was on top of her brother, she sniffed the air, searching for something.
"Grr... Roof! Wroof! I smell someone. Someone... There!"
Across the room, Mr. Dormitabis and an old man who was presumably the wizard, were ascending a concealed staircase. Ally quickly closed the distance, put her paw hands on the the wizard's shoulders, and started showering Talforious in dog kisses.
"Woof! Hi there! I'm Ally! You're the wizard right?" She spit out in between licks.
Her tail was wagging like crazy.
"Easy there." He commanded her like an unruly animal. "Down girl. Down. Sit!"
Ally sat on the floor like a dog.
"Good Girl." Ally barked at the compliment, and then panted heavily, clearly enjoying herself.
"Uh... what's going on? Why does Ally look like that?" asked Kyle. He had so many questions running though his head, but that seemed like the best place to start.
The wizard tried to explain. "Well, you see, your appearance in this dimension matches what you think it should be. So, for instance, you're wearing a different t-shirt than the one you presumably came in with."
He looked down at his shirt. Sure enough, instead of his plain green t-shirt, he was instead wearing a white one that read, "Look what I can do!" He couldn't see it, but the back of his t-shirt read, "You can change anything!"
"Although I've never seen a transformation this drastic before." He gestured to Ally, who barked once again.
"Can you fix her?" asked Mr. Dormitabis, eying Ally with a look of horror and guilt.
