"I-I!" Lian reached up and felt the knobby bump and stammered out a frightened excuse. "Y-yeah I uhm, hit my head, I have to go..."
Her neighbor looked at her skeptically for a moment then gave a weak smile and went to walk to her car. Her back was only turned for a few seconds before she heard Lian's front door swing shut. The girl had already disappeared inside.
Lian leaned against the door, panting.
She could feel the odd shapes above her temples pulling. It was like someone was yanking on her skull.
As she tried to get a hold of herself, Lian felt a crack in her back, a pressure that popped and creaked as bones shifted and her vision swam. Her clawed toes clacked on the floor as she staggered to her bedroom and collapsed on the floor. She passed out as her spine seemed to grow ridge like bumps that ran down its' length.
