'Dear diary,'
'Well, high school is only a week away. I'm really nervous though. I tried telling my moms that I was scared but they keep telling me that its nothing to worry about, that and Lynne will be with me every step of the way.'
'Lynne, my super popular, super cool aunt, which is weird since I'm a month older than her, I always thought you had to be like super old to be someones aunt.
'Anyway diary my moms keep telling me high school will be fun, to be honest I'm not so sure. Junior high wasn't fun, I mean I was like such a geek, whats going to change in high school?'
My parents did surprise me today by giving me the Ring of Age. I was totally surprised to be honest. I mean sure, my mom Katie first had the ring and then my aunt Gloria but I never expected it. I thought for sure it would go to Lynne but she turned it down. Mom taught me all about its power and told me to use it wisely. Shes been telling me to be careful with magic my whole life and I always am, its Lynne who is usually going all crazy with magic.'
'Diary, I know I seem like im complaining alot about Lynne today but don't get me wrong I love her. She's like a sister to me. I'm pretty sure she loves me too, even if shes embarassed when I talk about geeky things like my My Little Pony collection. I guess I'm just nervous. Sure Tommy says high school is awesome but what about me, Tricia, and Lynne? Will we think its awesome?
'Anyway diary mom is calling me to dinner. Dont want to be late. I guess we'll talk later. Wish me luck, I go back to school shopping tomorrow. Love always.
Morgan.'
Morgan closed her diary, sighing as she gazed at the ring on her finger. The girls had been given magical items of their very own in celebration of starting high school. Tricia and Morgan were given Rings of Age while Lynne had been given a pendent that focused her incredible power. All of those, plus Tommys Ring of Transformation meant the four wizards in training possessed an incredible amount of magical power.
For this family though magic just seemed to be part of the family tradition. Morgan's mother Katie started the tradition when she acquired the Ring of Age. Since then the magic had been passed down, first going to Katies half sister Gloria and now to Morgan herself. Pretty much everyone Morgan knew had magic. Her moms friends, her aunt Glorias friends, even her alternate grandma Kellie and her friends. While she loved magic amd trying to learn it something always scared her. Morgam couldnt quite put hwr finger on it but there was always a dark shadow lurking in her mind whenever she practiced her spells. Sure her parents had raised her to do good but a part of her always wanted to lash out with the darker parts of magic.
These thoughts always frightened the girl, Morgan was a good girl. She was polite, friendly, all her teachers and babysitters always said she was an angel. The idea that she would ever want to do anything bad just made her shudder.
Shaking the unpleasant thoughts from her head the girl pushed her lomg golden blond hair behind her ears. Mom Krllir had called her again, now she sounded like she was growing impatient. "Ill be right down mom," she called. Glancing in the pink dresser mirror Morgan gave a small smile, her crystal blue eyes glinting in the afternoon summer sun. "Your goimg to be ok Morgan O'Toole Carlson," she whispered as she sprinted towards the kitchen.
