Claudia and Mika had stood their ground, nervously facing off with Lilith and her minions as Katie and Kellie left with Jack. Once they departed though they watched as one by one each of Lilith's followers vanished until only Lilith remained.
"So," Mika said awkwardly. "Who are you anyway?"
Lilith sighed in annoyance, it always frustrated her that mortals did not know her as well as other witches. "I am Lilith," she proclaimed. "Mother of demons, first of her name, herald of the darkness."
"Wow," Claidia said flatly. "Someone has an ego."
Lilith furrowed her brow as she gazed at the college age woman. "Do not mock me," she hissed. "I know all and see all. I am well aware of who you two are Claudia Harris and Mika Tozawa."
"Know all and see all huh," Claudia smirked. "Okay what number am I thinking of?"
"I'm not a blasted mind reader child," Lilith exclaimed angrily.
"Claudia," Mika groaned. "Probably not the best idea to piss off the demon witch."
"What," Claudia exclaimed. "Its just a question. Cmon dont tell me your buying any of this."
"You should show more respect girl," Lilith growled. "The suffering I could inflict upon your soul would be endless."
"Not on my watch," Mika yelled, furrowing her brow as she stepped in between Claudia and Lilith. Lilith smirked as she had watched this. While she was a servant of darkness she could always appreciate when magical women were willing to protect one another.
"Impressive," she smiled. "The sisterly bond between you two is quite strong if you are willing to risk oblivion to protect her."
"Try marital bond," Mika stated, pointing to Claudia's engagement ring. "That's my future wife your talking about."
Liliths eyes went wide in shock as she gazed at the ring before turning once more towards the couple. A smile spread across her face as she studied the two women. "I see," she said softly. "Now I understand. It makes perfect sense now. You two balance each other perfectly. It would be wrong to unbalance such a harmonious relationship in the universe."
"Huh," Mika asked.
"Shes means we make too good a couple for her to kill," Claudia said. Lilith nodded, smiling at the two college women. "Your friend is right," she said. "It is my duty to bring balance to the universe, to strengthen the darkness that the light has tried to extinguish. Still destroying you two would be criminal. I could never end a relationship between two individuals that so perfectly balance light and darkness."
"Um thanks I think," Claudia muttered. "So can I ask why your here and what's with the others."
"I have returned to see my son ascend to his right place as the heir to Morgan Lefay," Lilith proclaimed. "My sisters and I have trained the boy to bring balance to the world my maintaining the strength of the darkness. Something you and your friends severely unbalanced when you destroyed Morgan LeFay."
"Not for nothing she tried to kill me, " Claudia grumbled. "My shoulder still hasn't healed completely and it's been a month."
"Its to be expected," Lilith shrugged. "You did engage a powerful sorceress in combat."
"So here's a question for you then," Mika asked. "What do you mean by sisters?"
Lilith looked at the two women somewhat dumbstruck by their question. "All women that practice the magical arts are my sisters," she stated. "As women we must look out for one another, protecting and encouraging our gifts."
"So you hate men then," Claudia said.
"I dknt hate men," Lilith stated. "But I do know they are full if themselves. They believe themselves to be far stronger than they actually are."
"Then why have a son," Mika asked.
Lilith paused as she now thought of Jack, a small smile spreading on her face. "I am a mother first," she said happily. "That is all I wished to be. Jack...Jack immediately drew my attention. I have watched the boy grow through the years, becoming stronger, more capable. It is my belief that through my nurturing he can be a force that will change the world."
Mika and Claudia looked at one another before looking at Lilith. The witch was quite different from Morgan Lefay. Morgan wanted death, destruction and to rule. Lilith on the other hand seemed solely interested in watching her son succeed and be better than them, like any mother. While her nature was evil, it appeared to be a necessary evil.
"So do your friends agree with you on this," Mika asked.
"Friends," Lilith stated, curiously tilting her head. "That mortal concept is unfamiliar to me. They assist me in training and protecting Jack. My priority is simply as a mother. Circe and Baba are merely here to assist. No more, no less. They know their place."
Lilith paused, closing her eyes as she felt Jack's magic. "It appears my son is returning to see his former lover," she said. "Come, we will meet up with him, as long as he is okay you shall be set free."
Mika and Claudia nodded as Lilith cast the spell to teleport them. As they vanished the two college women began to realize that Lilith wasn't as cut and dry as they thought. The demon witch may have been evil but it was evil for a reason. She was only here to make sure her son succeeded. While they would try their best to limit this they could understand Liliths desire, like any mother she only wanted what was best for her child.
