Charlie the Cheetah carried the Giggle Gas up to the hotel's back stairwell to the third floor where he knew the "regular" boys and girls had been assigned their rooms. Crossing his furry fingers that Mac the Lion and Larry the Mouse were busy far on the other side of the hotel, Charlie dragged the metal cannister down the hallway to the first room where he knew the boys were sleeping. Pressing his cat ear to the door, Charlie could only detect the sound of snoring and the occasional cough with his sensitive hearing. It was the perfect time! They were dead asleep. Chuckling to himself, Charlie slid the thin rubber hose he'd brought along with him further and further under the door. When he was satisfied it was near the creaky twin beds at the center of the room, he turned the large wheel at the top of the tank. The gas began to flow with a satisfactory hissing sound. Charlie thought he could even hear one of the boys laugh a little in his sleep. Satisfied it was working, the spotted cat headed down the hall toward the senior girl's room and repeated the same process there. He then did the same thing outside their teacher's room, letting the gas run for about twice as long, and then finally stashed the Giggle Gas tank in the janitor's closet at the end of the hallway, burying it under a pile of towels and boxes of mini soap.
Heading back to work, Charlie whistled the main title song to the animated pilot he'd briefly starred in before his fortunes took a turn for the worse and he'd taken a job as the Acme Hotel valet and bellhop. Cheaters might never prosper but his uncle Chester had hustled and scammed his way to the top of an enormous food empire in ToonWorld, showing Charlie that cheetahs could indeed prosper with the right amount of cleverness. Charlie was going to love seeing Mac and Larry's faces when the four regular kids and their teacher came down in the morning!
