Once the Luke and Alex got to the living room, Luke pulled out their phone again, opening it while Alex reached for the remote and gave him a questioning look.
"Still looking for answers," she asked as she turned the tv on. Luke nodded, looking through the photos.
"Yeah. Hoping to find some more... answers...." Luke looked down at the pictures, noticing that their wasn't anyone separate. Everyone was conjoined. Alex move her head to look, surprised by the sight. She then looked at Luke, speaking calmly.
"Well, I guess it makes sense. If the world changed to accommodate this, it could've changed entirely." Luke then passed another picture, which was him and Alex standing next to another conjoined pair. They shared a set of legs like Luke and Alex, but instead of one body they had two torsos, making a "Y" shape. More over, Luke and Alex both recognized one of them.
"Sarah?" "John?" The pair looked at each other again, and Alex quickly spoke up, adjusting her glasses.
"I'm going to guess Sarah's your girlfriend." Luke just looked confused, and before he could answer his body mate spoke again. "John's my boyfriend." Luke started thinking, and realized what she was getting at.
"Ok. So when the world changed, it changed to cater to us? Like having our families become joined, and our... significant others."
"And making sure this is normal." The pair finally realized the extent of this. The whole world had changed along with them. As they continued to look through some things, they heard Suzie and Johnny walk downstairs, continuing to argue.
"Johnny! You got to lead last time! It's my turn!"
"But I'm great at leading down the stairs!"
"But it's my turn!" Luke sighed, but then once they finally walked down, he noticed them walk over to his dad and Alex's mom, and Suzie asked them a question.
"Dad? Aunt Alexis? Can you watch us swim." Alexis then looked at the pair, smiling as her and Ethan stood up.
"Sure thing." As their family members walked out, Luke looked over at his second head.
"Ok. One: You're a junior? Two: Why would Suzie call her aunt instead of mom?" Alex looked over, just as confused as Luke was.
"Yeah. I have my mom's name, but... you're right. Why wouldn't she...? Let me see." She then grabbed the phone, looking up how families work. She figured there would be something that could help them. After some searching, she managed to find something. The two then looked and read the information. Apparently children weren't born conjoined, but somehow naturally joined after being born, and only as symmetric forms of conjoined twins. Along with this, the female twins in each pairing of a set of couples would get pregnant at the same time, and would always have one boy and one girl. This was a bit surprising to the pair, but it got even more confusing. Luke would still call Johnny his brother, and Alex his twin. He just looked over, sighing a little.
"Guess we have a lot to learn."
"You said it."
