"I must say... parties here are a bit different than parties at home," Jamie commented as she walked through the Pi Eta Tau house at UNLV
The place was a bit crowded and had a fair number of Humans attending the party too, which was something fairly similar to what had developed with regard to Spookyville in Lyre/Animalia. Some of it might be that some of the Human students wanted to see if their Animalian classmates wore something sexy for their costumes, which Jamie supposed made sense. Animalians were known for a higher libido than Humans, and this had lead to a fair number of cases where while Animalia had its edicts against public nudity/mating, that didn't stop them from wearing things a bit more provocative. Jamie's own Wonder Woman costume sort of fit that to a T, in a way, but then super hero costumes were essentially designed to be sexy for women.
"Well of course they are," came Tiffany's voice from behind her, "everyone is older, smarter, more mature... and we're not being held back by what daddy thinks is proper."
Jamie shook her head, but was pleased to see that Tiffany was doing well and wasn't falling into old habits as she got along well with the other guests. Tiffany then pointed across to the big screen television that was set up, this year with a laptop sitting on the floor with a series of cords plugged into the televisions input points, were normally things like an outside DVD or video-gaming system would be plugged in.
"And this year, we had the idea to connect things to that we can follow some of Spookyville's events going on," Tiffany said with a smile, "a few have even called in with ideas for where all the "stolen" candy was hidden. Seems that a lot of people had interest in that."
Jamie nodded, that was a good thing and even enabled her to see on how things were going back at home without being there. It was also good to see that the others that were attending the party weren't making a mess out of anything, though some of that was due to the PET House having some rules against alcohol. It kept things clean, which would make things easier for party cleanup, particularly when Halloween didn't fall on a weekend.
"There seems to be a lot of trick or treaters that have come by," a male voice commented as Trevor and Riley came around a corner from the house's front door, "Do families always come to the campus for trick or treating?"
Tiffany gave a bit of a shrug and hugged Riley as he approached, as his presence was one of the reasons for her earlier quip to Jamie, and the Bowser costume he had did well enough let him flex his muscles as it were. Jamie stood by, and while she was glad to see that her "brother" and her mate were getting along well, now that all of them were attending UNLV, she was a bit curious about the trick or treating question. It was only when Tiffany pulled away from Riley that the Poodle Animalian answered.
"Typically they'd come to the main dormitories… or at least they did during Freshman year," Tiffany answered, "and it would really be to come to the entry area and whoever was assigned to the desk handed out candy. That was something that kept parents taking little kids to where they might interact with college students coming to more "adult" Halloween parties and thus being in something a bit more exposing than what parents would want their little kids exposed to."
"Which would mean avoiding the fraternity and sorority houses?" Jamie wondered.
"That I don't know," Tiffany answered, "the first Animalian graduates from Lyre/Animalia were in one of the freshman dorms and once the ideas for Pi Eta Tau got started... going to others was a bit less interesting."
Tiffany glanced over to where she could see Princess seated in an easy chair with Marvin enjoying a few bits of jerky. So far Marvin was behaving himself and thankfully he and Stuart had left drunken fraternity brothers back at their fraternity.
"But once our house was up we moved in here from the dorms... and last year we did get some trick or treaters," Tiffany then finished.
"There seems to be a lot of them tonight," Trevor commented as he approached Jamie.
"Though... I think they were mostly looking for you," Riley commented as he looked to Tiffany, who was dressed as Princess Peach, "most of the people leading the kids around have been men... and they then looked rather down when Trevor and I answer the door."
Tiffany only shrugged at that, though there was some of that sort of thing that did make sense. UNLV had been rather open with regard to working with Animalia and Animalians, including getting specialized chairs larger Animalians could sit in more comfortably and distributed them to every classroom on campus. They would then sit in specific point of the room, and a larger Animalian, like Maddie, could retrieve the chair and switch it with the chair that was there for a Human student. With that openness had come a fair amount of attention, and Tiffany did notice that sometimes it was a bit more than what was expected from staff and local residents and the Animalians at Pi Eta Tau. No one had done anything rash or provocative, but the fact that people paid attention wasn't missed.
"Only shows that everyone does it," Tiffany managed.
"Or has an interest in it," Jamie corrected.
There were a few more nods which was then interrupted by another knock at the door, indicating the arrival of more trick or treaters. Trevor and Riley sighed and then departed back for the door, recognizing their assigned task for the night, to distribute candy to those trick or treaters that came to the PET House at UNLV.
