Two young men climbed the hill, dripping wet from the thick rain and hail sowing down from the night sky. They were good friends, since childhood. The two of them were both a year out from high school. The older of the two, Chris, was 19. Blond, tall, a little pudgy, but an overall average looking guy. He stammered up the hill, his friend just behind.
18 year old Joel was skinny and small, only 5ft tall, especially next to his friend. His curly hair had sunk slightly from the heavy rainfall.
“Man it sucks about the rain,” Joel said.
“We’ll fix it in the morning. We can’t work it at night, or in this weather.”
Joel turned the door nob, and was taken a back
“It’s unlocked? I know it’s abandoned, but...”
“Let’s just get inside.”
They entered on a large room. Joel flicked a large light switch, and the house illuminated.
“Weird. Y’know they say this house is cursed to change people.” Joel smiled as he shined his phone light underneath his chin.
“Haha, shut up Joel. Do you have reception here?”
Joel checked his phone and shook his head.
“I’m gonna check around the house. See if there are any bedrooms. House looks massive, so there’s bound to be something.”
Chris nodded, gesturing to a room ajar from the entrance. There was a lounge of some p kind, with a fire place.
“I’m gonna get that fire going before be freeze.”
Joel smiled and waved, “Okay. See you soon.”
Chris would enter the lounge and attempt to start a fire, or will something catch his attention?
Joel was left wondering down the halls of the cursed mansion, looking for one room at least to find rest. Of course, this house was large, so who knows what sort of rooms Joel would encounter.
