Mary slid the section control on the box a few times until a Human section came up. To her surprise, there were 15 vials with pictures of women, and 15 vials with pictures of men in it. The pictures were all abstract, looking more like the male/female indicators on a restroom sign than an actual picture.
"Huh, that's weird. The other sections had a lot more variety." Mary mused. She picked up one of the woman vials, swirled it around a little then shrugged and popped open the cork. She sniffed it, and like before it had no scent. Curious, she stuck out her tongue and tilted a drop of the liquid out of the vial onto her tongue.
Mary had tasted amazing food before, eaten at 5 star gourmet restaurants, had her choice of the most delicious wedding cake at her best friend's wedding... but nothing she had ever eaten before tasted anywhere near as good as the liquid from the vial. She tasted the most amazing cake - perfect in every way, and far beyond anything she could imagine. The flavor was somehow more than just a drop of liquid on her tongue - she could smell it, and it felt like there was actually a small piece of cake in her mouth.
She wasted no time in spilling the rest of the vial into her mouth. The taste sensation increased and she felt herself swallow the biggest and most amazing piece of cake she could ever imagine.
Mary glanced down at the empty vial in her hand and paused.
Eh, I'm already a woman. It'll be fine. That was amazing though. I wonder if the other vials taste the same...
She put the cork back on the empty vial, and placed it back into its holder in the case. Liquid appeared in the vial, filling it from no apparent source. Mary picked another woman vial and emptied the whole thing into her mouth in a single swig.
The taste and feel of cold yet malleable ice cream swarmed Mary's senses. A few seconds of savoring and then she swallowed. The feeling of a potential brain freeze crept up her neck, and she winced as she felt it begin to take hold... But there was no pain. No brain freeze. Merely the sensation that she should have felt it.
"Wow. These are amazing!"
She replaced the 2nd vial and pulled out a 3rd woman vial. This one gave her a mouth full of cotton candy. More than a mouth full: she felt the cotton candy wither and dissolve in her mouth, and felt more appear through her lips - with a spectrum of all her favorite flavors.
For maybe 20 seconds she enjoyed the experience before it felt as though she finished her intangible stick of cotton candy and her mouth and senses cleared.
Wanting to make sure she wasn't actually eating all those amazing tasting but unhealthy foods, Mary picked up a 4th vial and ran to the mirror in the hallway. She emptied the contents of the vial into her mouth and opened her mouth. Visually she could see that her mouth was empty. But she could feel and taste the most amazing wave of fruit smoothies passing over her tongue and down her throat. Like with the cotton candy, the flavor changed constantly, letting her sample all of her favorites and mixing into novel flavors she never expected.
She returned to the box and, unable to resist her sweet tooth, pulled out and quaffed one more vial. Another incredible sensation of taste, smell, and feel. This time was a pancake breakfast with a wide variety of toppings, fillings and syrups/sauces. Unlike the previous times, it didn't stop after a few seconds.
A full minute later, she was still enjoying the sensation of what was rapidly becoming an infinite dream breakfast. Her legs gave out under her and she collapsed to the floor. Her eyes shut and her limbs stopped responding to her. Soon the only part of her body she could feel was her mouth and tongue. And as everything went black, the last sensation she experienced was of swallowing a single cherry at the end of the most amazing incorporeal breakfast.
