Laura opens her eyes groggily. She finds herself with a number of things to process. First, the sight of the brightly colored room initially confused her before the memory of the day's events came back to her. Second, she found she had been sucking her thumb. Finally, she felt something strange and warm against her butt and back. She couldn't figure it out until she smelled it and remembered she only peed when she arrived.
Laura feels absolutely mortified, here she was waking up after a nap in a daycare having soiled herself. If she didn't feel like a toddler before she definitely did now.
As she moves to stand up she feels the mess spreading. She looks around for somewhere to clean up and finds a changing room with a deep sink that looks to be for this exact situation. Removing the dice case from her overalls she sets it down on one of the tables before pulling off her now ruined clothes.
After disposing of those, she climbs into the sink and does her best to rinse herself off. Feeling sufficiently clean, she finds climbing out of the sink soaking wet much harder than getting in was. After more than a couple slips she manages to hoist herself over the edge and stumble to the floor.
Now she once again found herself on the hunt for replacement clothes. Her shoes at least were still clean. Her heart skips a beat when she realized the only underwear available was disposable training pants. Even after the humiliation she just endured, putting on something so close to a diaper felt like a new low.
As she moves to exit the changing room to search for any other clothes, she freezes when she catches sight of her reflection in the mirror deeply unsettled by what she saw. The brown haired toddler with her flashing shoes and pink training pants looks as perfectly at home in the daycare as her adult self does in her office.
Tearing her eyes away from the image she returned to her search. After searching everywhere she could reach, the best she came up was a Disney princess costume from a toy chest. Now at least dressed, Laura looks to a clock on the wall and finds out the time is just past midnight.
"Great," she thinks. Not only would the store probably be closed, her new outfit was hardly warm enough to be comfortable outside for long and she has no pockets to put the dice in.
