As Laura exits the restroom the play area catches her attention again. She wonders if maybe she should try to make the best of her down graded status, at least for a little bit.
Deciding that there was no harm in having a bit of fun she made her way over there. Stepping into the chaotic room she found an odd bit of pleasure in being one of the older children there. She finds a shoe cubby and puts her stuff inside.
The experience proves more fun than Laura expected. Climbing through tunnels, jumping in the ball put, and riding slides all give the girl a boost of adrenaline she hadn't felt in years. With most of the time she had to wait spent, she decides to ride one more slide then head out. Half way down she felt that adrenaline turn to dread as she hears a familiar voice.
"Twelve years you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but six. Each roll of the dice returns more of what you have lost."
By the time she reaches the bottom, the changes have already run their course. The middle schooler that entered is gone and in her place a kindergartner emerges. If the experience wasn't so terrifying, the effect of the world being one size at the top of the slide and another at the would be fascinating.
As Laura begins to rush over to where she left her belongings, she finds her oversized pants are too much of an inconvenience and steps out of them. The Christmas sweater now covers her like a dress and she is able to run over to the cubbies. There she finds her bag spilled over including the damaged dice case. No one was nearby so Laura had no way of knowing how or why this happened.
After a quick search, she manages to locate both dice and the rest of her belongings. She then retreats back to the restroom finding her previously abandoned possessions have already been removed.
"Of course leaving the dice unattended was a bad idea! How could I be so stupid?" She mentally chastises herself.
After a few deep breaths she shifts through her remaining clothing options. What she finds for her new size is a school uniform; a long sleeve, white button up shirt, a black, knee length dress, some shiny blank shoes that might actually be a bit too large, and black leggings. The only less than proper parts of the outfit are the My Little Pony undies she has to settle on and the sparkly headband she uses to keep her hair, which she always insisted on being as long as possible at this age, from her face.
Stepping out of the stall again, she gets the odd mercy of not being tall enough to see her full reflection. Instead she sees the face of a grade school girl peering over the sink. With this image burned into her mind Laura questions what to do next, the train would be leaving soon, but if she didn't get a new container for the dice she is worried they will come loose again and is sure she wouldn't find the next roll to be any more of an upgrade.
