The preparations were done and the time had come. John had brought Canade with her to Saya's house for their sleepover. At this point it was just going to be John, Canade, Saya, and Kathy. They were sitting in Saya's large living room chatting, but with a giant television begging to have a movie played on it.
"So Canade... What am I like in the future?" Kathy asked.
John explained "Alright, I probably should've told you ahead of time I let them in on our secret. Come on though they are good friends and would've eventually found out." as Canade was looking at her upset. Canade continued to give John the same upset look and she cracked and said "Yes, I did peak into the future. I know they will meet you as a small child, and if I didn't explain now then explaining how that girl we hung out with as teens was actually my daughter would've become really complicated." Canade's look softened. John then went to her friends and said "So... future... anything in particular you'd want to ask?"
Kathy said "You heard me, we know Saya's going blind but what's going on in my life?" Canade went for a notebook she had brought and scribbled something down, ripped out the page, and gave it to Kathy who read it "Whenever you came over to the house. You would be in a suit complaining about some corporates or something. Usually when you went to talk to Yumi you went to another room." sighed then said "...Great, so I'm just some office lady?"
Canade shook her head and added more to the page "You do seem to have fun at your job. I'm note entirely sure what it is but it's probably a nice position."
Saya asked "So what am I then? A Senator? Some CEO?" Canade went to her notepad and gave Saya her prediction "Elementary School Principal... Huh?!?"
Kathy giggled and said "Ah, your reaction's so funny Saya! Although I could see you being a good principal. You get the social systems of schools, and you seem like you'd take interest in administration."
Saya sighed and said "Still not happy about having to corral a bunch of brats."
"Hey my sweet little sister ain't a brat!" Kathy said
Before they could start bickering further Saya said "So... how about we just gossip a bit? Any mistakes that your mother may or will make?"
John said "You know from what I've gleamed any mistake she can actually tell us here is probably something that can't be undone with foresight?"
Saya said "Sure, but we could figure out what some of those could be... Plus you got to see our future why can't we see yours?" little did they know Canade was scribbling thinking about how to describe THAT mistake.
Putting the notebook on the table they read "For the most part she's been an inspiration to many. Except for one time before me or my sister were born. It made international history books. A comparison Jack made me aware of... It's kind of like how you would view World War 2 for me. To some it felt like the laws of physics and logic were breaking down. People being unborn, reborn, killed, and resurrected rapidly. Whenever some priestess would come to stop mom the continent beneath their feat would split and move them away. It was pure Chaos."
John had an uneasy smile on her face and said "Come now, it couldn't have been that bad. You make me sound like an Apocalypse."
Kathy said "Yeah... I can't see Jane here ever doing something like that."
Canade wrote on the back side "It's unsure what exactly was going on around the incident, but apparently since she was meeting the Priestess of Dionysus. Then since every country agreed that all Priestesses from then on needed to be sober... Mommy got a little drunk?"
Saya quickly thought to all the vodka, wine, and whiskey she had hid under the couch and wondered how she was going to dispose of them.
John thought back to the card Canade had given her "Don't be evil." and said "bringing back the dead huh? Did I eve-" Canade tugged on her mother's sleeve and wrote some more "The details were spotty, but there were some things you could only really do drunk. No one ever saw you bring back someone from the dead after that incident." John sighed not even able to imagine what she may do in the future wondering how she was even stopped. Reading this on her mother's face Canade scribbled "Other Chronos Priestesses came to help."
John sighed and noticed that Kathy and Saya were gone trying to hide something then asked "Say Canade... Are you afraid of me?" This for sure surprised Canade who quickly went to her notepad to scribble something but John said "No need to rush an apology or whatever. It's just... When I talked with people from the future and even when I saw myself... It kind of feels like they don't even see me as human."
Canade crossed the part she was about to show earlier and then wrote "They don't. Especially not you as you are one of the most powerful priestesses around, and when you are always looking into the past or future few can tell what exactly you want. Personally I can only tell that you want the best for me, but i'm not sure about Merica." Canade flipped the notebook and her hands shaking tried to be a bit more daring and wrote "If we're being honest right now, what DO you want?"
John thought out loud "...What do I want? Well when I first started this I was a runaway just wanting everything to go back to normal. Now... I guess I just want to live with my friends and family... I don't really have any large plans or desires really." John tossed her head left and right and said "I kinda wish I was a guy again... but I think reality would be worse If I didn't have you."
Saya and Kathy got back with Kathy holding some beet juice saying "Alright, we aren't doing a drinking game with alcohol... However how about we do a drinking game with this bitter stuff?!?"
