"Small world ain't it?" Kathy asked as she and Canade were in Kathy's living room as their sisters were preparing something in Jess' room. Honestly it wasn't that surprising. There weren't a ton of elementary schools in the area, and Hestia and Jess were of similar ages. It was shocking at first but it wasn't that inconceivable, especially not to someone who lived in the era of Priestesses and Gods.
Canade had something scribbled during the initial confusion and passed the note reading "Was there anything I should know about Friday night?" to Kathy.
"Um... Well nothing happened like you described what Jane could do... Besides you should talk more, you've got the cutest voice." Kathy said with a smug face.
Canade was blushing a bit and wrote down a simple question and showed it to Kathy "Did you record it?"
Kathy said "Sorry I was just teasing-" and then the scribbles were deafening.
"I wasn't offended or anything. I'm just trying to get myself to talk... I thought maybe if I could hear my own voice it could help me speak." Canade had written.
"Again Sorry, but even with the amount you drank you never actually said anything... Although you made a couple of different grunts. Feel free to text me if you need help with- Oh yeah I need to actually give you my number for that." Kathy said. Canade did get a phone of course, she just hadn't needed to use it. She supposed it was a decent idea to exchange numbers now though.
A short while later their little sisters came out with Kathy's Jess saying "K, We're done with the basic stuff so. INTERVIEW TIME!"
Heather asked "Alright, so our first question is... What is the weirdest part of your family?"
Kathy said "Probably our sense of humor. Got me and Rogue into interesting situations." Canade was kind of struggling with the question however... between Jane, Merica, time travel, her albinism and m- Those didn't really matter though... This was more about her foster family than her real family. Canade overall wrote "No Comment."
Heather was a little disappointed and said "I guess that makes sense. Only been with us for a week. So my question is... What is your favorite food?" A much more straight forward answer that Kathy responded with a crepe.
Canade however wrote "Pancakes." So many good memories with them. Back when she was still a child their mother would often make the fluffiest pancakes. When Merica started to try to get into cooking she'd make so many pancakes. Never quite getting them as good as mom, but it was always fun and she was even able to help. They had kept good days good, and when she was down they had helped cheer her up. Was there a more perfect food?
Heather said "Ok this next question is both of ours."
Jess blurted "What do you see yourself doing in the future?"
Kathy thought and said "I'll probably get a business degree, and try to be my own boss." although with what she knew about her own future... Would she ever get to be her own boss? Canade however was having more trouble. I mean in the future she would be born but... what could she do?
"Canade?" Heather asked unsure since Canade was taking awhile.
Heather wrote down "Unsure, a lot has been going on recently so I haven't had time to really think about it."
Kathy asked "So what do you think you girl's learned?"
Jess said "Well I learned what you wanted to do for you job Kathy! and for Canade... um.... she likes pancakes!"
There was a bit of a silence in the room, and Heather signed "I have one more question when we're alone." to Canade discretely.
Kathy said "Alright then, how about you two finish up the presentation while we make dinner? Can you cook Canade?" Canade nodded
Heather said "Well, let's get done fast and eat dinner Jess!" Jess nodded and they raced to Jess' room. Dinner was nice, and a small simple board game made the end of the day even better. They re-Uber'd back and got back to Heather's room alone as they got ready to go to bed.
"...So... your trial week is about up right?" Heather asked. Canade nodded and heather continued "I know things must be complicated for you, but do you think you're going to go away?"
