Laura is considering how to escape when she feels her stomach growl. Laura figures on an empty stomach she is unlikely to make it too far. Pretending to listen to a story to get food doesn't sound too bad after all. Besides she may be able to sneak out when all the real kids and their parents are leaving.
In the meantime, Laura spots some computers in the children's section. They probably have a bunch of restrictions, but with some luck they might allow her to look up directions to the store. Heading over, she takes a seat and finds both assumptions to be true. After some frustration, she prints off directions to the store and slides them into her pocket.
Just as she finishes, she hears the librarian calling everyone over for story time. The snack isn't anything fancy, some peanut butter and apple slices, but it does help fill Laura's stomach. The story is as boring as expected and definitely is targeted at the smaller children in attendance.
Once it wraps up, Laura sticks herself in the crowd of departures and makes her way over to the coat rack. She's almost in the clear when she sees a boy, maybe 5 years old, pull the dice case out of her coat pocket. She rushes over.
"Excuse me those are mine."
"Nu uh this is mine. I found them."
"In MY coat pocket."
The boy's mother notices the two bickering and steps over.
"What's the problem here?"
"He took that case out of my coat I just want it back."
"Timmy what have I told you about taking other people's stuff. Give her back her toy."
The boy's face flashes with anger and Laura braces to grab for the case.
