Taking one more look at her current attire, Laura decides she can't possibly look any more ridiculous no matter what she rolled. Retrieving one of the dice from the safe she closes her eyes and tosses it on the bedside table.
"Nine years you have walked this Earth, now this number is but five, each roll of the dice shall restore more of what you have lost."
Laura keeps her eyes shut as the changes take hold. The goodnite slides off her reduced waste and the dress soon touches the ground. Opening her eyes again she takes in the perspective now the exact same age as her younger niece, Alexis.
Once she adjusts, she returns the die to the safe and heads to the younger girl's room. There she finds plenty of less embarrassing outfits. She goes with a set of Spider-Man underwear, an Avengers t-shirt, and a pair of denim overalls with patched knees. Looking in the mirror she finds she looks almost like an exact copy of her niece.
The only noticable difference is Laura's much longer hair. The hair that she used to need her mother to braid to keep out of her eyes when she was this age the first time. On a whim, Laura grabs a pair of scissors an gives herself a trim figuring she wasn't going to be able to braid it herself anyway. The end result is definitely uneven but better than most children's self haircuts.
With the shorter hair, Laura doubts anyone would be able to tell her and Alexis apart. The thought gives her some pause, but she figures it's at least better than her last appearance at least.
Another stray thought enters her mind. With the dice locked up tight she's not in any danger. Maybe she could go play outside. She was too much of a girly girl to play too rough when she was young, but now dressed as Alexis it might be fun to give it a shot.
