Laura decides a little pool time won't do any harm. She grabs the items and slips into a stall to change. She pulls of her outfit and slips it into the backpack along with the pacifier. The diaper has to be ripped to remove and Laura drops it on the ground.
Now naked, Laura shivers in the cool changing room. Laura pulls up the swim diaper featuring characters from Finding Nemo up her waist. Wearing underwear that has to be pulled up instead of taped on makes Laura feel slightly more grown up. She then pulls on the one piece swimsuit. The garmet is hot pink with a mermaid emblazoned on the front.
Laura steps out and heads towards the pool. She laughs when she sees the girl who the outfit is meant for has been caught but the mother was now digging through the diaper bag confused. She reaches the exit and, after leaving her backpack by a chair, starts walking over to the pool.
Laura almost screams when she feels herself lifted up. She expects to be turned to see the face of the woman she robbed. Instead it turns out to be the lifeguard.
"And where do you think you're going?"
"I'm gonna pway in the pool," Laura tries desperately to figure out why she's in trouble.
"Not without a life jacket you're not," under his breath he follows up with, "Would it kill the parents to read the rules around here?"
Laura exhales in relief as the man carries her over to a rack of life jackets. He selects the smallest size and buckles it in place and tightens the straps.
"There you go. Now you can go play."
"Fank you."
Laura toddles off before the man can decide there's any other issues with her. She goes to the main pool first, but finds the deep water unnerving. Instead she enters the smaller shallow pool filled mainly with other toddlers and babies. She quickly finds herself roped into playing a game of marco polo with the other kids. None of the parents pay the new arrival any extra attention as she splashes and giggles with the rest of her peers.
