Jake was looking around the library when he saw a familiar face. He saw his best friend Marcus. Marcus was a 19 year old African American student, attempted to get a degree in psychology. He wanted to become a therapist at some point. Jake knew that. In fact, he was the one who suggested it. Jake had known Marcus since 5th grade. Marcus had always known what to do to get people in good spirits. One time, some kid attempted to steal his bike. After getting caught, and one lecture later, the kid broke down in tears, hugging Marcus and thanking him all together.
Being his best friend, Jake decided he would tell Marcus about the Chronivac. He was too near and dear to keep a secret from. Grabbing his laptop, Jake approached Marcus's table. "Hey bud." Jake said through Marcus's book. Marcus lowered the book to acknowledge Jake. "Sup man? I see you still hopping around in good spirits." Marcus could tell when someone was in a good mood. He had a vibe for reading people like a book. "So? What's got you giddy bro?" Jake turns his laptop on and explained. "So... You know my tail, right?" Jake eyed his tail, twitching nervously. Jake hadn't been vocal with his tail his entire time, so this was a bit difficult for him. "Well, yeah. Everyone and their mom knows. And you know it's not normal for other humans, but that never got you down. Heck, even those two love birds that just left aren't bothered by their beaks." This made Jake laugh. Marcus was known to pull out a clever one liner once in a while. "But any way, what about your tail?" Jake had begun. "Well... It's not... I didn't have it before..." Jake started stuttering, making Marcus a bit confused. "Of course you did. It was a birth defect that grew in during 6th grade." Jake sat down, avoiding his mentioned tail. "That's what this thing made you think." He said pointing at his monitor. "I just got this program today. It's called the Chronivac. It could change literally anything. Including physical appearance, mental state, and anything else in between." Marcus started raising an eyebrow. "Okay, your tripping balls or something. Your saying this thing gave you your tail? The same one you had since 6th grade?" Jake repeated himself. "I told you this thing could change your mind to make you think so." Marcus scoffed at Jake, returning to his book. "Alright then, how about we test it." Marcus lowered his book again. "On who?" Jake smiled. "You. I'll give you whatever you ask for. Your choice." Jake turned his laptop back to himself.
"Alright man. Since your so invigorated in this program, how about..."
