Jamie could hear most anything around her apartment, which made privacy problematic, as she could hear every bug hidden in the bathroom, and around the whole house. She shivered as she heard the crawling of cockroaches, the buzzing of flies and the sounds of spiders capturing those flies. She felt like she was hyperventilating, she couldn't hide her... these things attached to her in any way. The antennae were still very sensitive at the moment, and she couldn't bare to think of how much they would hurt if she covered them up in any way.
And then there were her ears. She could say that this was an elaborate costume for Halloween. Yeah, Halloween... during Easter, yeah right. That wouldn't work. Especially knowing that Annette already saw her in just regular clothes. But then again, she already believed that she had makeup and perfume on when she arrived. She didn't. It was the... the mirror. She had to come clean. This was the mirror's doing, and there was no way of hiding it from Annette anymore. She walked out of the bathroom, walking towards her own bedroom.
The mutterings of Annette worried Jamie. The second a noise was made, Annette turned around to see Jamie, and instead of just assuming that she was okay and just nervous or worried, she screamed.
She saw her.
Well, obviously she saw her, but she saw... those... changes. She saw her antennae and her ears. She knew how she got them. She knew that she was going to change too. The mirror must have done this. Why did she act like the perfume and the make-up were normal? She knew Jamie like the back of her hand, why did she not see these changes? The mirror must have... altered her reality... and that means... if she changes, people will forget that... she's not... she wasn't... She couldn't stop looking at the changes as she covered her mouth in sheer embarrassment.
"H-Hey, Jamie... umm, n-nice perfume you've got... a-anyways, I've got to head home, I-I'll talk t-"
"You can see them?"
"W-What are you talking about?"
She pointed to her ears and her antennae. "These? Can you see them?"
Annette shyly nodded her head.
"AHHH. You can see them too. What am I going to do? Why am I changing? ...you looked at the mirror... did you see something like this? You didn't see yourself as a fairy, did you?"
"N-No"
"Please tell the truth, Annette, did you see yourself as a fairy?"
She shook her head in a way that was both nervous and truthful. She wasn't lying, she wasn't going to be a fairy. Then... what was she going to be?
"...what did you see?"
"N-Nothing. Jamie, I am fine, I'm sure that nothing is wrong. C-Cool circus mirror, Jamie. I-I'm gonna head off"
Circus? "Annette..."
She stopped.
"What did you see?"
"Just m-myself... as..."
"As what?"
Her voice whimpered. "...as..."
"Annette, tell me. What did you see yourself as?"
