The obvious thing to do was to change "partner" to something else. But "your wife" or "your child" could be bad. Maybe "robot"? No, there was another chouce. He could change "your" to something else. Except he wasn't sure that that would count as a sentence.
Well, there was one way to find out if it counted. He changed the sentence. "Pregnant partner wants to solicit bribes from local criminals.” It sounded sort of stupid and caveman-speak-like, but it was technically a whole sentence. Roger had already been changed to have a vagina, so this was certainly possible.
Bill looked around, while thinking of the ways that could go wrong. It didn't say "your" any more so it could affect someone else's partner a hundred feet away and do nothing to Roger at all. He didn't see anyone pregnant, however, and when his eyes glanced back at Roger, Roger did seem to have a bulging belly. Roger still looked like himself and didn't seem to notice anything had changed.
Bill thought the experiment went pretty well and generated another sentence. It read "Roger will give birth to his baby in two months."
