Ty's Power

It's a Nice School... just not heaven worthy.

added by TaleSpinning 3 years ago O

The first day of the new school year was starting, and Tylie was going to go. Tylie wondered why she should go to school when she could just learn stuff by herself, but was told it would help her make friends, make learning more fun, etc. Stepping through a portal Tylie found herself at Ty's old high school now called "Ty High" although most called it Hi Ty just in case Ty was watching. Said high school was moved when the blight started occurring and all the faculty that worked when Ty was around were dead... and all the renovations throughout the centuries left not a single ounce of the old high school... But it was Ty High... You just ignore that now it went from elementary school to high school.

As Tylie stepped through the portal she drew a lot of heads. Ty may have helped humanity get many innovations, but portals hadn't been invented yet... and the girl's own grace was otherworldly. Tylie couldn't help but feel like everyone couldn't stop watching her... Was she better than everyone else? Her mother and grandmother weren't actually from Earth, and her father was technically Ty... Did that make her a fourth god, a fourth human, and half heavenly being? For sure all this walking she had to do was tiring for her legs... She took pride in heaven when she could walk on the heavenly ground, but there the ground consciously helped move you where you wanted to go... This ground seemed to just push you when you pushed against it... and all this air... It just kept getting in the way. It was abundant enough that she didn't have to worry about finding some to breathe, but it was also annoying the way it was constantly shifting and blocking her movement.

Thanks for Ty putting some information into Tylie's head she knew which class to go to and felt winded as she collapsed into her desk. It was mostly plastic and metal which wasn't that comfortable, but Tylie's body just needed some rest. Some of the kids were chatting with each other, and others were looking intimidated by Tylie's unnatural looks along with the whole portal thing. The teacher Mr. Brooks came in with an old man feel to him. Despite a youthful mask he was slouching quite a bit, and his years of experience were being worn on his face.
Mr. Brooks said "Hello I'm going to be your teacher for the year. I think most of you recognized the fact that we have someone special here. Ty himself has brought someone born in heaven here on Earth to learn more about our way of life. He'd like you to try to not treat her that much differently. Now then I'd like all of you to get into groups of three, and those will be our learning partners for the rest of the year. We'll spend the rest of the day getting to know each other."
At which point the kids of the class started darting around and seeming to yell at the top of their lungs. Children that knew each other tended to cluster together, with most seeming to leave Tylie alone. She just seemed a little unapproachable, but eventually Tylie and 2 other students were left out leaving them to push their desks together.

In the desk group Tylie lay on her cold desk table panting unused to pushing something with weight against a floor with friction. The other two in her group was a boy named Ian with short brown hair and a t-shirt/pants combo with a bunch of pockets that seemed to have stuff in them, and another girl named Carly with short black hair who was wearing overalls.
Ian asked "Are you ok?"
Tylie said "...Earth is exhausting..."
Carly asked "What happened to you?"
Tylie thought and said "The food here is terrible, the beds are so stiff and cold, your legs get tired so quickly, and all this air just keeps getting in the way..." Ian started chuckling and Tylie asked "What's so funny to you!?!"
Ian said "I always figured people up in heaven were really strong, but you're getting winded by wind."
Carly said "I guess in heaven you don't need to actually do much. You're going to have a rough time at recess and P.E."
Tylie groaned and said "I'm better off dying now then..." her two partners chuckled a bit hoping Tylie was joking. Little did the mortals know just how spoiled Tylie was growing up in the bubble known as Heaven.
