"You know, you guys can go ahead to the brothel." Ty nodded to Steph's huge orc form, too. "And you can go to the lord. You're the sophisticated one, anyway. I'll hang back and check out the village, and join you all in a little bit, alright?"
Steph scowled a little, and her hard brow wrinkled with concern. It was almost amusing to see such a thoughtful orc, actually, but she remained silent. Erica and Aaron, meanwhile, needed no more permission. "See you guys later!" Erica called over her shoulder as they both left, hustling over towards the whorehouse as planned. Ty gave Steph a stiff nod and turned around, trying to scope out where a tavern would be.
He found the tavern before long. It was everything he would've ever expected; a ramshackle wooden building, almost collapsing under its weight, with extensions of different types and qualities of wood. Through the windows, he could see the light of a comfortable fireplace, and the smells of home-baked food and booze. Ty couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he just couldn't keep himself away from visiting a tavern in a living, breathing D&D world. The launching point of every adventure, the meeting place of every great party... A truly magical place.
Ty pushed open the door and immediately headed over to the bar. The bartender was a large man, maybe in his fifties, with a thick beard and hair bursting out from under his collar. He polished a mug as the young wizard entered, but dropped it when he approached the bar. "What can I do you for?" He asked gruffly, placing the clean mug under the table.
Ty licked his lips and thought for a moment. He steadied the bottles and barrels around the room and behind the bar for a minute or two, unable to make up his mind. "Uh, an ale, I think."
"Two silver," the barkeep responded gruffly, beginning to pour. Ty's eyes widened, and he frantically raked his hands through his robes, searching for coins. Nothing. Seems his wizard robes didn't come loaded with a thick wallet after all. Realizing he couldn't pay, Ty opened his mouth, beginning to explain himself-
"That pour's on me." A deep, silky voice called out from behind the wizard. He frantically turned around, and caught a gasp of surprise in his throat as he did. Standing before him was a huge anthropomorphic lion, clearly appearing to be some kind of warrior. He donned a tight suit of leather armor, with a spear over his back. The leather hugged his form well, showing off the bulk in his shoulders, arms, and chest quite generously. An enormous golden mane erupted from the lion's head, cascading partially over his shoulders. When he saw Ty studying him, the lion gave him a little wink. "That is, if you don't mind. Let me buy you this drink, friend."
