Laura decides to hide. People should be arriving at the daycare soon, and she can slip out then. She could add her name to the attendance sheet, but she worries that might raise more suspicions. Before she hides, she needs to grab some supplies, however. She locates a toddler backpack, places the dice case in it, and then also gets some training pants and wipes. After a moment, she reluctantly packs a few diapers as well. Just in case she gets even smaller.
Just as she finishes, she hears the door open. Laura quickly ducks behind a large piece of furniture. The employee makes a beeline for the bathroom. Once the door to the bathroom closes, Laura bolts for the main door. She slips out without being spotted and sprints down the sidewalk.
After she’s put a few blocks between herself and the daycare, Laura slows to a walk. She looks around. Dread replaces her relief from escaping, as she realizes that she doesn’t recognize anything. Her stomach rumbles loudly, reminding her that she didn’t have a proper dinner the night before. To add onto her issues, she can feel pressure building in her bladder. She needs to pee.
Laura comes to a stop to decide which issue she deals with first.
