Karen slowly opened her eyes. A searing pain formed in her eyes as sharp white lights shone directly in her face, and she recoiled, squinting. She took a look around, wondering what the hell was going on. She didn't remember much... she remembered the carnival, and... She opened her eyes wider as she looked around. Her son! Where was her son? Where was Andrew?? She tried sitting up, and soon discovered that it was to no avail. Straps had fastened her down on what seemed to be an operating table. As she looked around further, she also noticed lots of whirring medical machinery, and a table next to her with operating tools on it. She gulped, not wanting to know if they had already been used, or were about to be...
Karen's thoughts were interrupted by glass doors opening, and 3 people in lab coats coming in. "Ah... she's awake" one of them said, sounding distinctly female. "She won't need a sedative, the compound will knock her out for about 12 hours" another, supposedly male, replied. The third one walked up to Karen, glaring down at her. "We know who you are. We know where you're from, who your family is, and where you live. None of that matters now. You are test subject K5 of the program Aquatic Anomaly. Do you understand?" Karen sheepishly nods, unable to speak. The doctor then takes out a needle with a dark blue liquid, and sticks the needle in her arm. The doctor drains the syringe into her arm, and afterwards, nods to his coworkers to leave. "You will not remember any of this when you wake up" He says, promptly turning and walking out of the room. It doesn't take long for Karen to doze off, the compound knocking her out cold. She hears a faint conversation. "Transpo... back... monit... thing she does...". Darkness envelops her.
