I cringed at myself, but the first thing that came to mind was the textbook I'd meant to buy in the first place. I silently mouthed the words "human sexuality," and turned the page. Opening my eyes, I froze.
Below me, words scrawled themselves across the second page of the book, writing themselves in golden ink that quickly faded to black. I read:
"Sexuality, or sexual orientation, is a label used in many modern Western cultures to distinguish those who are attracted to the opposite gender, the same, or both. The original..."
It went on, but I'd stopped processing the words. Holy shit. I mean. Holy. Shit. The book was magic? I glanced back down to the page, where whatever spirit or demon controlled the book was writing out a sentence about discrimination:
"In many modern cultures, homosexuality is viewed as unnatural, and gay individuals are discriminated against by society, whether legally, socially, or interpersonally."
I grimaced. I guess homophobia even exists in literal magic books. I wish there was a way to change that...
Below me, the text stopped scribbling itself across the page. For a moment, nothing happened. Then, in a smaller, more handwritten font, a message appeared:
"Pick up
a pen."
I bit my lip. Carefully, I reached across the table, and picked up a pencil I'd left lying around. As if it sensed what I'd done, the page went blank again.
"W-....uh, what do I do now?" I said.
