Jeff was forced to sit on his desk, waiting for Alyssa to come back. Part of him wished she'd just play with her friends and forget about him, but he knew that wouldn't happen. She'd show him to her friends, and they'd hopefully just giggle at his personal details and leave it at that. He didn't want to think about what else she could do. God forbid she removed some pages, or worse, changed anything.
"Man, I miss Tommy so much. He wouldn't let them touch me," Jeff thought, yearning for his husband's comforting touch.
Just as he feared, Alyssa came into his room, with two giggling girls in tow. Jeff recognized them as Alyssa's friends Leslie and Emma. Leslie had curly red hair and freckles, while Emma was a latino with black hair and tan skin. They were both Alyssa's age and went to the same elementary school. All three of them approached Jeff, and began to laugh out loud as they looked through his pages.
"I can't believe you found his diary! And made him marry your cousin!" Leslie said in between giggles. Jeff frowned internally. They must have thought Alyssa changed that, instead of it being the truth.
"I know!" Alyssa said. "He's going to be so mad! Let's keep messing with him!"
"Hang on," said Emma, "Can we fix it when we're done? Like wash off the pages and stuff?" Jeff felt relieved that one of Alyssa's friends was concerned for him, but he was afraid of the effect cleaning a page would have. Would that remove his memories?
"Sure!" Alyssa chirped. "But for now..." She pulled out a black sharpie, and handed it to Emma. "Let's have fun!" Emma giggled and took the pen, along with Jeff. Wasting no time, she closed the book and began to draw on the front page.
Emma colored in Jeff's left eyebrow completely black, and continued across his forehead. The girls laughed even harder as Emma finished drawing a thick unibrow on Jeff's face. If Jeff could blush, his cheeks would be red as tomatoes. He had always been made fun of for his unibrow, especially since it was black and contrasted so heavily with his blonde hair. He made a vow to get it lasered after this week was over. Meanwhile, Leslie drew a black beauty mark above Jeff's lip. He was less embarassed about the mark, since Tommy seemed to like it.
After altering the cover, Alyssa's friends gave her back the journal, besides themselves with laughter. Jeff had never been more embarassed in his life, and silently prayed for this whole thing to be over as Alyssa opened the book again. With her red pen in hand, she started to write just inside the front cover. Suddenly, Jeff felt better. Why was he upset? His unibrow was his most attractive feature! He maintained it carefully, actively encouraging its growth. It's what made Tommy fall in love with him in the first place! He would never get rid of it as long as he lived.
Alyssa then left with her friends to get lunch, taking the journal to the kitchen table. Jeff was left there as his mom brought out sandwiches for the girls. He didn't like being outside his room, but he was glad they hadn't changed anything.
