Grinning, Kat moved over to Dan. “It seems you have invited your whole year from school along with some extras.”
“You wanted all my friends, and I´m friends with nearly my whole year. But where are your friends, Kat? I don´t see any of them.” Dan replied.
“Well, the first two I asked could only come at eight, so I told the rest to come then also. But it was to late to inform you, as you had already called many of your friends. But that's ok for me. Maybe I get to know a couple of them better before my friends arrive.” Kat answered smiling.
She enjoyed this pre-party, as she called it, for an additional twenty minutes, before she went to the kitchen. Once there she castes the spell she wanted to cast the whole day.
Dan and his friends didn´t notice that their costumes had become skintight on them. Also it went unnoticed that the pieces had merged together under their belts, with them vanishing into the costumes seamless. Nobody wore anything but underwear and socks underneath, which soon also merged with their costumes.
Next their costumes legs slowly crawled further down, either connecting to or covering their shoes bit by bit. When all original normal shoes were covered they reformed to look like fitting parts to their wearers costumes, be it paws, clawed feet, hooves or something else. The insides had merged with their socks and became skintight underneath as well, but again this went unnoticed by everyone.
Then the same happened to their hands, which was the first time some noticed anything. The crawling costumes arms covered their hands and then started to reform the new gloves, causing a couple of glasses to drop down and hit the ground, because most animals paws or clawed front-feet weren´t able to hold them anymore, while hooves were completely unable to.
Only if the animal in question had no arms or legs like Julia´s snake costume they remained as such, covered in scales. Most looked a bit confused at their covered hands, not understanding what happened. But Dan quickly knew what was happening, even if he didn´t believe it.
“Where is Kat?” he asked slightly panicked, looking around. But his gaze went back to his now three-clawed hands every few seconds. Nobody answered him, all more transfixed on their own costumes changes.
Kat rejoined the others, her illusion of a costume changing along them. But her spell had been the reason she didn´t wore a costume herself, so she wasn´t affected by accident. She quickly moved towards her brother, his changes were the most interesting to her. She also tried to decide if she wanted to change his costume later.
Dan was confused when Kat came to him, looking like her costume was changing along the rest of theirs. But he didn´t asked her, as by now the costumes started to cover the last open part on each of them, their face. With their hands and feet there was only one side it could move from, but with their hoods above and around it slowly crawled from every side at once. Not a minute later it reached the tip of their noses, finally sealing them inside completely. That was the moment everybody beside Kat froze in position, no longer able to control their bodies. The last outer changes took affect as their faces reformed to resemble their costume like a mask, most pulling out into a snout or muzzle.
